Works well on bench test
I have this wired up to an Inferno slim line UTV/Auto heater core blower. It is an axial 5 amp max blower fan (SPAL VA31-A101-46s to be exact). The instructions in the listing are not correct for how to wire it up. Only one picture in the listing has the correct information. Battery + power gets connected to both the switch red and + to motor Battery - gets connected to switch black wire Motor - gets connected to switch Blue wire I connected this up and ran it at multiple fan speeds for multiple hours. Switch did not overheat or have any issues. Neither did the fan operation. Hopefully it lasts. So far works exactly as I needed it to. I will post update if it prematurely fails.

Camper fan repair
Works great for my camper bathroom fan. The circuit board went bad and would only work on speed 1. New circuit board was over $100. Removed circuit board and added this variable switch and 2 way taped it to the shroud. Only directions are on the Amazon add and they are not great. This worked for me. Black wire to negitive/ ground Blue wire to negitive/ ground on motor or whatever device you are hooking up to. Red wire to positive input and positive on fan or device you are hooking up to.

Worked great until it died after 5 min. of use.
I should have read more of the reviews before purchasing. The thing was pretty straight forward to install. It ran great controlling a 12v 80w transmission cooler fan for about 5 min. and then died. the housing was super hot. The fins weren't hot at all. I pulled the cover unit and tapped a few of the components and the thing would work sporadically until it stopped working altogether. Buyer beware.

Hooked it up in 60 seconds.
Simple and works like it's supposed to. Used it to power a 3A 12V diaphragm pump, hooked up to a 3A 12V wall adapter for LED's. Powered on, pumped water great, the speed control worked flawlessly. I wish it came with the wiring diagram in the box but... I mean, the picture on the Amazon page is easy enough to follow.

Works great, instructions are terrible.
I bought this to use on the wobbler for my clay pigeon thrower that was lacking any sort of speed adjustment. It was easy to install, works perfectly, and you can't beat the price. Speed control is very smooth, from zero to full speed. I had to deduct one star for the useless instructions, though. There are three diagrams in the listing, and they don't even match. For anybody wondering, the correct wiring is: Red wire to Motor+ and switched 12V+, Black wire to Battery-, and Blue wire to Motor-.

I saved myself $70 with this replacement.
The fan in my Dickenson Diesel Heater needed replacing as the stem of the control knob had snapped off. Replacement OEM was over eighty bucks with shipping and this little device was less than nine. The original had only three speeds whereas this is infinitely variable from, zero to full power. The zero point clicks completely off. The original was more strongly constructed with a metal body, whereas this is made mostly of plastic with a metal stem; however, the device doesn't really come under much stress, so it's not a major consideration. Of course the upside is that I have far greater control of the fan so I can dial it in perfectly. The lower power settings can be employed as a damper in those situations when the wind isn't co-operating and there is the occasional downdraft. A three-speed fan is next to useless in this situation. The wiring was a breeze thanks to a very detailed account by one of the reviewers, Ryan Shumaker. Thanks Ryan! The operation of the controller feels silky smooth without any play whatsoever, which surprised me given its price. Only time will tell if this was a wise purchase but at ten percent of the replacement cost of the original and given its superior performance, I think it's only a tiny gamble.

High pitch screech
Works as it should and great for the price. It does give off a constant high pitch screech at 0-50% speed.
