they were in perfect condition. The shipping of the product was later ...
I wore these shoes for a play I was in, and these shoes helped me preform perfectly! When I received the shoes in the mail, they were not damaged, they were in perfect condition. The shipping of the product was later than what was posted on the website, so that was the most stressful part of the whole process. I was very happy with the brand I decided to go with, the sizes were correctly fitted, the shoes were comfortable for a 2 and a half hour performance, the width of the shoes fit perfectly, and the arch was fitted in the correct place. Overall, it was a great shoe. However, I noticed only one frustrating thing (besides the shipping issue) I had to scuff up the bottom of the shoe so I would not slip, and, after all the performances of the show, there were black scuff marks on the toes of my shoes. For buyers needing to buy this shoe just for an activity you will only do once, I would totally recommend this shoe. However, for a professional, I would suggest a more professional shoe. Yes, this was an excellent shoe overall, but the little setbacks of it would hold someone professionally back. There were other websites like discount dance that sells the tan character shoes, but those shoes go for $30 or $40 where as on Amazon I got this pair of shoes for $20. Overall, I was very happy with my purchase, and will recommend this brand to anyone who needs this product.

Good for stage but a noxious lacquer
Daughter is using these in the choreography-packed Chicago The Musical. So far the shoes are holding up well, though the 2β heel is a tad too high. The sole grips well after scuffing.I do voice the same issue about the high-VOC lacquer on the shoe that is nauseating on unpacking. I get that color is applied as orders are processed. But please aerate these shoes for 1-2 days before shipping, or after unpacking. It may make sensitive people nauseous if you're in a restricted space.Otherwise, it's a good shoe for stage.

Order 1/2 size down
Exactly what I was looking for. High school daughter needed these for a theater production she is in. She will be able to use them for other productions or for when she needs to dress up, like for church. The shoes run big, you should order a half size down. Originally ordered 9 and had to return for 8.5 and those were perfect. She usually wears a 9 in other shoes.

Adequate and bargain for stage/dance but don't expect them to last long
I bought these shoes to wear for my ballroom dance lessons. The shoes are very comfortable, fit perfectly (I wear 7.5, regular) and should be good for at least 8 to 10 lessons. They look nice but as mentioned in previous reviews, the soles and heels will not last very long. I have only worn them once on a hardwood floor for 30 minutes and the heel is already worn down. I am happy with the purchase because for the price, if I can get 10 uses out of it, it will be a bargain. I would not wear these outside on the sidewalk as that would wear out the soles and heels very quickly. I think these shoes are for stage use only. As for arch support, I don't need it but if you do, you may need to put an insert in.

Exactly what I was Looking for
I am regularly a 8.5M size and felt better to go up in size a bit as recommended by several buyers. I was buying these shoes to wear to a big ethnic dance festival. Most of my shoes that are comfy have rubber soles which are not good for dancing. Now I am ready for anything! Will take them to Brazil when I am visiting my friend who is a ballroom dance fiend and always has a dance party to go to! There were no size 9 shoes available, so I decided to go with the 9.5 which was available. That would normally be too large but weighing it against the "too small" advisories, went with it and am very pleased. I inserted one of my favorite gel insoles and it is now a perfect fit. Maybe I should buy the light color ones too!Of course, every foot is different! My feet are more round toed than tapered, so these are comfortable without being too narrow.

Nice Shoe--Size Difficulties
The materials are nothing special, and there is no arch support or padding inside the shoe. I don't know how many performances they will make it through. That said, I had a terrible time finding the right size. Since I really needed the shoes for a theatre production, I ordered three times, until I got the right fit. I normally wear a size 6 1/2 or 7. Since reviews of others of the same brand shoe indicated they ran pretty small, I thought a size 7.5 would be right. They were way too big. I ordered the 6.5, and they pinched my toes. I then ordered the size 7.0 and got a pretty good fit, but had to put a foot pad in the bottom in order to get the fit just about right. I spent a lot on shipping (which I knew i was doing), but did get refunds on the two sizes that didn't fit. Just be forwarned--My foot is just a regular 6 1/2 medium, as a rule--not unusual--so if you need the shoes like I did, you might think about shopping wiser than I did.

Good for cheap price
The shoe was good for the one show I was in. However, as expected with price, the thing to secure it around the ankle broke.

Worth the price!
I waited to write a review until after I was finished using these for a musical to see how they held up.First I only ordered a half size smaller (normally wear a 9, Ordered 8.5) and the fit was great. I also have flat feet and the fit was comfortable enough just a half size down.I ordered these at the beginning of June for a community production of Spamalot, where I was a dancer and wore them for several different costumes/dances throughout the show. They are WELL WORTH the price. We ran 8 shows, and these shoes held up great. One of the soles on the heel started to pull away, but that was the only problem after completely beating my feet up... So I can't complain much!
