Deeper easier breaths after 2 weeks !
As a youngster I had bouts of asthma which I eventually out grew by early adulthood. And although I competed in competitive sports I never excelled I'm sure because of breathing troubles. Recently I became aware of a soft "wheeze" while falling asleep and a slight shortness of breath when walking up hills. I purchased this breathing device after hearing of long distant runners using it to train for events that take place at high altitudes where the air is thin and oxygen low. I've been using it for a few weeks now and feel much better because of it. I don't wheeze anymore and find steep inclines no problem. From what I learned about the how the device helps is that you are exercising your breathing muscles just as you would with any other muscle in your body. The muscles that allow your lungs to expand (inhale or inspiration) and contract (exhale or expiration) are the diaphragm and intercostal muscles. The Expand-A-Lung device make them work harder to become stronger which then enables you to inhale deeper breathes thereby increasing the amount of oxygen your lungs can provide to your muscles. With more oxygen available in theory you should be able to work muscles longer before lactic acid builds-up and they need to rest. This sounds logical too me, but I have no gauge or markers to judge it against. But I do feel better since using it; deeper breathes, no wheezing noise, and easier walks up hillsides. I'd say that's proof enough.

Definitely has improved my ability to make my muscles work in improving my breathing.
I found my muscles were actually weak on expelling air, I had really very little control over it. Now I have increased my ability to inhale and exhale with far more control. I was having trouble swallowing after having the plague we all went through and now that is resolved also. Bought a three pack and shared with other family members.

Possible bacteria buildup. Recommended only with modification.
I have had this breathing device for 2 days. I think it will work very well and help me strengthen my lungs. My concern is that the silicon mouthpiece is attached to the body of this device with a cable tie. There is STILL MOISTURE between the mouthpiece and the body, even after letting it dry overnight. That would be a wonderful place for bacteria to grow. If bacteria does grow there, you could be inhaling something that could make you very sick.Simple fix: I cut off the cable tie. I can now remove the mouthpiece and let it and the body of the device fully dry. The mouthpiece can then easily be placed back on the body of the device, and it will (in my non-expert opinion) be safer.Yes, I worked scrupulously to clean this after every use these first 2 days. There was still liquid between the mouthpiece and the body. Once I cut off the cable tie, I could separate the parts, wash them, and let them dry naturally. There is still plenty of "friction" when putting the mouthpiece back on the body of the device, so it will not come apart during use.

Although this product is not difficult to use I felt that they should have included a little more info pertaining to the different strengths that can be applied. To adjust the air resistance you need to turn the bottom part but it feels like there are only 2 different levels although they clsim to have multiple levels. Due to the lack of instructions, i am not sure if i am using it correctly. Through trial and error andresearch, o fogured out that you can not let air escape from your nose. Once I figured it out, i can feel it working my lungs.

overpriced but works
the mouth piece should be easily removable for cleaning, the tie wrap is pretty cheesy... the lack of numbers or calibration on the knob to set resistance is telling, it seems to be a repurposed plant drip head. It would have been the right thing to design it so it can be used for inhale, exhale or both... the way it is now it is just a restriction both ways.... so the price seems to be to be exorbitant .... but it does work.

Helps Remove the Latent Vape Juice from my Lungs
I was not sure what to expect but do like this product a lot. I am preparing to climb Mount Whitney and am in great shape except I took up the habit of vaping (should not have but I like it). Not that vaping has noticeably reduced my aerobic capacity but the mucus from doing it is always there in my lungs. This device does help clear that up and fully expands my lungs. It is a simple, but effective and well designed device, and for the price it is very much worth the money. Someone stated that just putting an O-ring in your mouth will do the same thing but that is BS unless you want to choke on it.

I like it because it works when you inhale as well as when you exhale. I set a bench mark with a volumetric exerciser and an oxygen saturation meter. Even though the device looks like it was cobbled together with lawn sprinkler parts it has made a measurable difference. At 65 years old the only medication I use is an inhaler, and my goal is to get completely away from any medication at all. Using this device, as well as other exercise and paying more attention to what I stuff down my throat should get me there pretty quickly.

Helps with snoring
Took a week or so, and it started helping with snoring issues. The use is straight forward, I use it for exercising my lungs while I shower. Lucky I tried it there first, because saliva....Overall, I'm satisfied with the product. Is very basic construction making the price a little too high at $29. To me $19 seems to be tops what the device should go for
