The only problem I had with this tool is that I had to search around the web for usage instructions. But it works great for opening and closing up swing chains. You may need to lube up the pivot as it comes really stiff.

No really, children of limited strength can bend, remove, and replace S-hooks with the greatest of ease. Which makes it easy for me to do other things - like write a review for this fantastic product. Do take care when using the flat banding handle on rough surfaces as the red paint can chip easily, but we're not using this to impress anybody, and the jaws are the real heart of the matter. This does NOT cut chain or bolts or anything like that, it's specifically designed to bend S-hooks, so it's mostly a single purpose tool, but boy, what a tool it is!

It use to take me one hour or more to open the S hooks and beat them back together , but now I can open them up and closed them within five minutes, they are not cheap but well worth the price.
