Comfortable and Good Quality Stool with Wheels
My primary use for this wonderful stool is in my photography studio for photo shoots. I was in need of an adjustable stool on wheels to keep in my studio. I had looked at different stools to use here on Amazon as well as the local shops. I wasn't sure if I wanted something padded, a plain flat seat, or this tractor style seat. Amazon had all three types online. I visited my local office supply store to see what they had for comfort and prices. I thought about getting an office chair and just remove the back. Nothing was comfortable to my use. I also visited my local camera shop that carries a line of studio equipment. I saw the tractor stool with chrome wheels. I immediately knew this was the stool for me. With all the colors that were available on Amazon, I ended up with the black seat version. I thought it would be a safer color if I end up capturing a portrait shot that included the seat. Installation was easy. The included pieces that came in the box: a bag with right angled hex tool and four screws, the tractor seat, bottom seat plate with adjustable arm, chrome 5-star legs, bag of 5 wheels, and the vertical cylinder. Each of the pieces where well wrapped and padded where needed. There was an instruction sheet included that contained a diagrams on how to put the stool together. I attached the bottom seat plate with adjustable arm to the bottom of the seat. Before screwing the plate down, decide where you want the adjustable arm on the left or right side of the seat. I placed the plate on the seat and placed each screw into the holes. I manually turned the screws into the seat and then used the right angle hex tool to tighten. I attached the wheels to the star base by pushing the wheels into the base until I heard them snap in place. Not too difficult to do. I placed the vertical cylinder into the star base and then placed the seat and plate over the cylinder. That's it! This tractor seat stool is light enough to take with me when I have to setup a portable studio at an offsite location. I just remove the seat and the vertical cylinder from the base and carry three (3) pieces with me. I highly recommend this stool for its quality, comfort, sturdiness, variety of colors available, easy to take apart if needed and for the price here on Amazon. I do plan on purchasing another one in a lighter color. This is a great find! Good luck deciding which color to get. :)

Great chair! Would purchase again if needed
We have two of these chairs: one I received for use as a desk chair, which everybody in my family quickly grew to like as much as I, and an additional one I purchased here as a present for the other members of my family (partially so I could keep mine for myself!) which we now use in the kitchen for various tasks. We've had these for at least a year and a quarter, maybe an additional quarter of a year for the one I currently use. My personal experiences are this: I sit long hours at my computer, as both a video game nerd and as an avid consumer of digital art programs, and this chair is quite comfortable for me; I've found no need for a cushion in all the many months I've used this excellent chair and I am in fact seated on it as I write this review. I am a chubby little shrimp, standing at about 5'2" and weighing about 170 pounds, and this chair has lasted quite a long time without giving up the ghost. I've found that the initially fragile-looking back holds up quite well under some pressure, but I'm still a little afraid to press on it and reflexively sit more forward in the chair than I had when I was using the larger plushier chairs that are more expensive. Also, this chair is very compact and can actually fit underneath my desk unlike my last chair, freeing up plenty of space in my fairly small bedroom. It's not exactly the most fancy-looking chair on the market, however, and those other chairs are somewhat more comfortable to use, but those are minor complaints for me. This chair requires assembly before use, but it doesn't take very long at all to assemble and I was right back to my usual activities within the hour. However, larger people may have a few issues with this chair, as others have already pointed out in more words and detail. The second chair's hydraulic system doesn't stay put as well as it does on the one I use (mine stays at the elevation you put it at if I were to sit on it but the other will sink a few inches if it's not already at the minimum height) but that's only a minor complaint and the chair is still very comfortable and workable. My points above still stand for the second chair as it did for the first. Overall? For me, this has stood the test of time as a chair that deserves at least four stars, if not the five I've currently given it. I'd definitely purchase this chair again. I sincerely hope that this writing has helped you make a decision as to whether or not you'd like to purchase this seat. In summary: A great chair for the smaller and/or younger people, and surprisingly durable, mine still not having broken altogether over 1.5 years of rather intense use, but if you're looking for that fancy office comfort I wish you luck because keep on looking!

Well made, but be aware it's a plastic seat
Summary: Well made, but not sure of comfort yet I've been looking for a shop stool that's a little more comfortable and usable than the red round Harbor Freight ones I have. This one looked good, so I gave it a try. Seems well made, but it doesn't have the spend-all-day-in-it comfort factor I was hoping for. I haven't spent a lot of time in it, so this may change. Keep in mind the seat is hard plastic; the contours suggest it will not be a problem for prolonged use, but that may be an issue. The wheels roll well, and the seat spins well. The height adjustment is not much, and I find it just a tad high for some activities, like those involving working at wheel hub height. But so far, I'm giving it a qualifed approval. I'm docking it a star mainly for the limited height adjustment. Quality of Materials: * Excellent, appears very durable. Quality of Fabrication: * Looks like a quality piece of gear; stool operates well. Ease of Installation: * Easy to put together, easy to roll around to where I need it. Suitability for Purpose: * While not as cushy as a foam padded seat, I'm hoping over time that the larger seat pan and contoured shape will be a suitable trade-off Packaging/Delivery: * As usual, Prime delivers fast and delivers well. Package was brand new

Make sure you note there are 3 different types of chairs in this ad
The drafting chair is high - would be too high for a standard size desk. The "tractor seat with back" is great for a normal size office desk. The backless tractor seat is the kind dentists use, but I read in reviews here some people use it an office desk. Amazon does not do price adjustments. I bought this for 60 total a few minutes later saw it was 50, but amazon wouldn't change the price. so make sure you're happy with the price before you get it. I've always had standard black office chairs and was hell bent on getting something fun that popped this time around. I chose the cherry red to energize me and make me want to work. It is slightly less comfortable than the padded chair I have but not uncomfortable. Honestly, do you want a chair you can sink into? I dont. You want to be alert and awake when you work. Also they say sitting is the new smoking, so you want to make sure you get up every once in a while and walk :-) It is VERY cute, weighs around 10 pounds, about half of my last office chair, and I aseembled it in less than 5 minutes. It's very simple which is VERY appealing to me. And it makes my small apartment look CUTE. it's not bulky and will get the job done. There is empty space around the back support area, whereas a normal desk chair has padded bulk, so this chair takes up less visual space while still having back support. if u want eve less visual space i see other reviewers by the backless chair and use it for their desks. So so far I really like it. I had a hell of a time trying to figure out seat heights. I measured and saw I had set my last office chair to about 19.5" seat height (i am about 5'8) and the tractor seat with back definitely fits the bill. I wish I could buy more seats and backs so when I feel like changing the color, I can :-) I was surprised that it is comfortable at all. My butt is not delicate shall we say. I am a woman's size Large with wide hips and if you look at the seat you'll see it has like butt indentations :-) It's comfortable. I just make sure to get up every hour. After buying this I searched reviews and saw people were buying the backless ones for desks too - that would be cool. I wish This was adjustable enough so it could get to be the height of a drafting chair so i could brig it to my sink to do dishes but i called flash furniture and they said they don't have a chair that goes that high, you'd have to buy 2 separate chairs if you want one that goes very high (barstool/drafting chair height=draft chair) and one you could use at your desk (tractor with or without back - non drafting chair) I am very happy i bought this even though the price went down a significant chunk right after i bought it. i am so tired of standard looking chairs. life is short, make it fun - now when i look at my office space i feel like i want to get to work! my apartment reminds me of the 50s or 60s now with popping color and a fun look - all gotten for an affordable price.

Solid and comfortable
My daughter need a new chair for her desk, but specifically wanted one without a back. I bought this one and she is happy with it. It was easy to put together - she did it herself, in about 5 minutes. It feels sturdy and she says it is comfortable to sit in, even for eleventy billion hours in a row while she does her make up and hair. Although the chair is not padded, it is comfortable because it is contoured nicely. The wheels roll smoothly, even on her thick carpet. The seat adjusts easily and stays secure at your desired height. Overall good deal and good item. Feels much more better quality than her previous chair that was about the same price. If you're looking for a backless chair and don't want to spend too much, this is a good choice. It is a great value.

Well made and attractive, but a bit skittish.
This stool is attractive, easy to assemble, reasonably comfortable, and seems to be pretty well constructed. It is also somewhat ergonomically challenged, displaying a tendency to roll away from me as I try to sit on it. It's not a major problem once you know what to expect, but it can really get away from you if you're not prepared. You can't sit on the edge of this large seat and "scoot" yourself back into a comfortable position, as the wheeled stool just pushes away from you. It can even "flip" out from under you if you're not ready for it. The solution is to grab the edges of the seat and hold it steady as you settle into position. This is easier to do if the seat height is set to a low level, and is best done using both hands. I do like the look of this stool, but I think that it might be more practical if it did not have wheels. I may even try to replace the casters with fixed pads, if I can find some that will fit easily.

School Teacher Approves
I bought this chair for work. I am a high school teacher and I also purchased a standing desk from Amazon. I saw this chair and purchased it during prime deal days. The assembly was pretty easy although I have to say that I didn't assemble it myself. I just kind of pointed to my 13-year-old son and said "Hey, put this together." He did. If my 13-year-old son can put it together, it's easy to assemble. It's a super cute chair and I get compliments from the students and from other teachers quite a bit. It's also very nice to use. It's comfortable and it does feel slick like another reviewer said. To compensate for this, I added a soft seat on top of the chair. It has a silicon like material and quite a bit of friction. I don't have any slippage now. I love the vibrant green color and the wheels do not stick. Love the chair!

This stool needs a warning label: "Can Cause Bodily Harm"
I know that there were ample warnings about the dangers of this stool from others, but I chose to ignore them believing I could control the stool so it would be safe. I was totally, and absolutely WRONG!! After struggling to attach the wheels to the base--I had to call the manufacturer to get assistance--I wheeled it into the kitchen and prepared to "sit" a while. I tucked the stool into a corner so it couldn't move--or so I thought--went to sit and ended up flat on my back on the floor with the stool across the room. I am a very senior citizen with one knee replacement and the other knee waiting to be replaced. It took me a long time and a great deal of pain to finally get up from the floor. I spent the next 3 days in bed. After a few days, determined to sit on the *&% thing, I grabbed hold of the stool and holding onto the seat, lowered myself onto the stool. Only problem was this time, instead of keeping the seat under me, the action of landing on the seat--momentarily--pushed the stool out of my hands and . . . yes, there I was on the floor--carpeted floor this time--again. A repeat performance that felt no better the second time than the first time. The stool now resides in the garage with a towel draped over it because I can't bear to look at it: it brings back painful memories and reminders of how stupid I was. I can't even give the thing away; no takers. So this Spring, it will go out with the rubbish during our annual Spring Clean Up Drive. I know the shinny red seat will attract some scavenger; I hope it won't hurt him or her also. It's been an expensive lesson--money-wise and physically.
