DC ComicsMass Effect Series 1: Grunt Action Figure
A**F
OF ALL THE MEMBERS OF THE MASS EFFECT 3 UNIVERSE I ENJOY THE KROGAN MOST OF ALL!
FIRST IT ABSOLUTELY MUST BE SAID THAT THIS TOY HAS TINY PIECES THAT COULD VERY EASILY CHOKE A SMALL CHILD TO DEATH SO EVEN IF YOU ARE BUYING THIS FOR A OLDER CHILD MAKE SURE A SMALL CHILD OR BABY NEVER HAS ACCESS TO THIS TOY EVER! I KNOW THE SITE SAYS THIS BUT WITH CHILDREN IT NEVER HURTS TO BE EXTRA SURE THE MESSAGE IS HEARD AND TOTALLY UNDERSTOOD!Ok in order to understand why I enjoy this Mass Effect Series 1: Grunt Action Figure you must know the Mass Effect game and universe that inspires his existence. The Krogan are a war like race of reptile like creatures that if left to their our devices breed extremely fast. The Krogan as a race are generally highly intelligent but strangely quite brutish, boorish and crude socially as well. The Krogan see all relationships through the narrow prism of battle and battle readiness. I rather enjoyed the Krogan as a Mass Effect species being an autistic man because; Krogan tended to say what they felt without the refined ways and natures typical of the more human like species. Krogan appear to fight hard and play hard. Krogan expect and accept nothing more from their best friends than honor and honesty in all dealings. Krogan are ruthlessly pragmatic. Most of all the Krogan race was the most fun to explore the Mass Effect 1, 2 and 3 video game galaxy with.Mass Effect is a video game and in my humble opinion a very good one too. Mass Effect 1 and 2 were decision driven games and the characters responded to your decisions becoming more friendly or distant to your commander character if your decisions favored their respective agenda's. As for the Krogan action figure itself. I am an old man so I brought 2 of these Krogan Action Figures one to display the other to keep pristine and unopened in its original box as a collectors item. The opened Krogan action figure appears to be of basically good quality. The coloration appears to be true to the video game. The detailing appears good, meaning more than adequate but slightly less than superior in nature. This Krogan action figure can be articulated slightly but, I do not think it would survive too long with a rough child playing with him. He comes with a gun of course as a Krogan without his weapon is hardly a Krogan at all. The gun again is of limited quality single color plastic detailed in texture but not highly defined. My Krogan was dressed in what appears to be a more silver than white outfit but my eyes can be cheaters. If you are a collector of Mass Effect toys this one is a major score. I do not collect Mass Effect action figures and or toys but, during the video game I bonded rather tightly with the Krogan as a race and with with Wrex in Max Effect 1 and Grunt in Mass Effect video games #2 and #3. When I saw there was a Krogan action figure available I simply had to have it. In my home I have brightly lit, recessed glass shelves where I can display the things in life that I love. I have model spaceships and other very nice things on display in my home and my Krogan friend will fit in ever so nicely with the other memories near and dear to my heart. I can not suggest this would be a toy to play with as a rough child would but as a collections item this Krogan is first rate.

Solid Collectible
This figure represents a slightly higher level of action figure, than say Star Wars or GI Joe. There's a stronger attention to detail and paint application and, of course, a larger size. These Mass Effect 2 figures are very competitive with other DC Direct figures or other 6" action/collectible figures. Granted articulation could be slightly better, as long as they can hold an "at-the-ready" shooting pose, they're fine.Grunt appears in his silver colored armor, which is somewhat misleading since the pic shows his white armor. Personally this is not a deal-breaker. I do wish he might have had some additional accessories, such as an alternate masked helmet (like Shepard) or an extra firearm. As it stands, he does feel just about right given the price point.Overall, if you are a Mass Effect 2 fan, I highly recommend all of the figures from this Series 1. As it is, DC Direct and Bioware are supposedly in some type of dispute and will not be releasing Series 2. With that in mind, this will be a one-off kind of collection, but well worth it.

Thank you
A very nice product but it came with a spot of blue on one of the side of the face and it's difficult to keep him standing even with his stand is a very heavy figure.Thank you once again.

Disappointed
This figure is no good out of the box. It comes with a stand that fits onto one foot of the figure and that broke while I was fitting it. The Claymore shotgun that comes with it is to small and the figures "very" limited movement makes it a useless accessory. Detail is not what I would expect from a collectable. All this leaves me disappointed.

LOVE IT, BUT WISH IT WAS WHITE
I have been waiting for this and only this action figure to be released for about the last year. then I read the series was pre sold out and I was devastated. GRUNT was my favorite character in the game. I only wish they put him in the white suit as seen in the picture of the listing. that would have been awesome. Also, if you are like me, and when, in the first game, WREX died , I was inconsolable for days. i felt like having a mock funeral. I do not take these games seriously as some people do, but I felt a connection with WREX and GRUNT. I cannot wait for MASS EFFECT 3 to come out, I will be the first one in line...

pretty good
good details on Grunt's face and armor, nice M-300 Claymore replica.very bad joints that give almost no freedom of posing. its more like a rocky piece of statue, and not an action figure.its good but not perfect.a good addition to the collection.
