Sinu-Rite, An Effective Treatment Combo For Feline Herpes
We are multi-cat household of 7 kitties and recently purchased PetAlive Sinu-Rite for one of our Companion pets, Panda, a neighborhood rescue, who was diagnosed a few months ago, at six months of age, with the Feline Herpes virus, also known as feline viral rhinopneumonitis (FVR). Anyone reading this and familiar with the symptoms of this disease is aware that coughing, sneezing, watery eyes, runny, snotty nose and a chronic nasal congestion are all part of the territory, along with reduced appetite. Definitely not fun for baby Kitty in our multi-cat household and causes much stress and consternation among pet guardians such as myself. A trip to the Vet began a treatment of antibiotics over a period of 3 months. My Vet first started her on a dosage of the antibiotic Clavomox and then when that proved ineffective, a few months later, the more powerful, Zeniquin was prescribed. Both antibiotics had varying degrees of effectiveness but eventually Panda's symptoms returned and she became even sicker. My Vet wisely decided to discontinue prescribing any further antibiotics due in part to Panda's less than robust immune system's ability to fight off the infection. It was during this time I began a lengthy amount of research and study on this disease and was disappointed by the lack of any known cure. After visiting several cat sites and forums as well as veterinarian medical websites, I became aware that the treatment methodology that seemed to give the best results consisted of a combination of L-Lsyine and Sinu-Rite tablets. This methodology may vary for others who might try this but we did this for two weeks straight. My wife and I started her on 3x daily dosage of 2mL-Lsyine, a vital amino acid, from Enisyl-F, administered by needle-less syringe pump, along with administering the Sinu-Rite tablets 4x daily over an 8 hour period. In case you are wondering, we choose the Enisyl-F because of its more concentrated formula. Thankfully, Panda had been trained by my wife to take other medicines orally and so she was able to take the Sinu-Rite tablets by mouth without much fuss. Within a matter of a few days following her treatment, Panda's condition gradually began to show a marked improvement as her symptoms of sneezing, watery eyes, coughing, runny, snotty nose and nasal congestion began to dissipate. Over the next several more weeks that followed, her overall symptoms subsided considerably. As of today, we have cut back on the L-Lysine to 1x daily at the recommended dosage of 2mL but have continued with the Sinu-Rite at 2x daily only as a precaution. I think we will eventually stop the Sinu-Rite but keep it handy at the slightest hint of any flare up. I am so happy and relieved to report her appetite has returned to normal and she is eating well and happily playing with our other cat kids. My message here is that every case of treating the symptoms of this dreadful disease maybe different but it definitely requires patience and persistence as the keys to treating and controlling the symptoms and because there is no cure, you have to remember to continue with the treatments in order to give the medicine combo time to work.

Great stuff!
I have tried everything to keep my 8 year old Beagle from sneezing herself to death. Have spent thousands of dollars trying to figure out what is wrong with her nasal passages. She would sneeze, cough and sound like an old man with COPD. I couldn't give her any more antihistamines. We had tried everything on the market and nothing worked. It took about 2 days of these tablets and what a huge difference they have made! The initial impact on her was amazing.....seemed to clear her up. After a few weeks on the tabs, she has a bit of congestion but nothing like she had before. You do have to adjust the amount of tabs from time to time, which is not a big deal. This is an all natural product so I am not worried about over-dosing and I can tell if I am under-dosing as she starts to sneeze some. She is playing and running in the yard, chasing the cat, and is back to her 2 mile walk every day. If any of you ever had a beagle, you will understand that they NEED activity. At her worst, we couldn't make it a half a block and we would have to come back home. She just wouldn't stop coughing and sneezing. She rarely does the beagle "backward sneeze" any more either and she has done this all her life. I will continue her on these tabs for as long as they are contributing to her quality of life. I would suggest anyone give this a try.

I think it works?!
Seems to work on my little Chihuahua. I stopped it just to see if it made a difference in his nose got runny so I think it does work well.

Seems to help
So, we've been giving this product non-stop, 1 pill per day, twice a day, to our snotty, sneezy, all-indoor 8lb cat for probably a couple years now. It has helped? I don't know. Maybe it's the placebo effect (for the humans), but when we've run out and not given it to her for a stretch she seems to get worse. She used to get so congested that you could hear her trying to breathe, eat and drink through the post-nasal drip and we'd clean her nose off multiple times per day. We'd put her the bathroom with steam to try to clear her out. It was pretty pitiful at least several days of every month. Since having her on this, she's still sneezy, sometimes snotty, but to a much less severe degree, and it just seems worse during times when outdoor allergens are worse. The other variable that changed since starting her on this is that we have two fewer cats now than when she started, so maybe she's improved due to an overall reduction in dander, litter dust, etc. In short, she seems to have improved long term on a small regular dose of this, which helps the pricey product last longer. We'll continue since it's easy to crush/sprinkle, with no particular flavor (I tried it).

Our cat (James) was hit by a car a year ago which impacted his sinuses. After two surgeries (with huge vet bills) he was still having trouble breathing and was continuously on antibiotics for sinus infections. When the vet suggested yet another surgical procedure I decided to research pro-biotic solutions -- I take an ear-nose-and-throat pro-biotic myself and have found it very helpful in preventing colds, so wondered if there was a similar remedy for cats -- and there was! After giving James PetAlive Sinu-Rite for a week his sinuses were decongested, and he hasn't needed antibiotics or another trip to the vet since (6 months and counting). We used these pills daily for a month or so initially, but now only use them if he seems a bit snuffly, which is not very often. An extra bonus is that he doesn't seem to mind taking the pills (we use a pill popper).
