Rubicon Express RE2705 Rear Boomerang Shackle for Jeep XJ

I used these to replace my Rough Country shackles. They are a lot beefier than the RC shackles and fit nicely in my HD Offroad No Lift shackle relocation boxes. They did require some effort to get them over my Zone leaf spring bushings but tighter is better in this situation in my opinion. They look well built with nice welds and powder coating. I would recommend to anyone looking for an extended shackle.

These seem really well made. Welds look good, paint is good, bushings are snug and tight. The ONLY reason I give them 4 stars is that they painted right over the tapped threads for the grease zerk. I had to run a tap through them to clean them out in order to get the zerk to thread.

Very beefy. I like that is greasable, but they should clean the threads where the zero goes after powdercoating

So, the only reason I gave three stars instead of two is that the product arrived when it was supposed to. As far as the quality of the product itself, I definitely don't feel that the price is justified. I am a welding student and have previously worked in a metal finishing facility. It would appear that the welds were performed by an inexperienced welder. On both shackles in the pair, the welds on one side were done with too fast a travel speed and on the other side were done with too low of a wire feed speed. This resulted in uneven welds with incomplete fusion at the toes. As far as the powder coat finish, the threaded hole for the zerk fitting was not even masked off (usually done by inserting a small rubber cone into the hole / takes about 3 seconds to do), resulting in powder coat all gummed up in the threads. Country of origin is not marked anywhere on the packaging, product, or company website. Pretty sure that all imported products are required to be permanently marked with the country of origin, which judging by the quality, is probably China.

could not use the set that i received.....the ears where the leaf pack go in-between were bent inward in both directions. I went ahead and rturned them. PS: Get Rustys version, they have a better coating that will not come off and seem like there was a lot more effort put into them. Plus they are cheaper than Rubicon Express at a better quality.

These shackles are really well-built, just won't work with the Deaver G9. They will bind on the side plates before complete compression.
