Safari White Fountain Pen - Fine Nib L19-WE-F

This is a great starter pen. A lot of fountain pens are much more expensive; I wanted to try them to find my preferable setup. This pen is light. The cap does post, and it feels as light as or maybe lighter than a ball point pen would. But it is a decent size, and the nib that comes with it is a good size (not massive, but not so small and delicate) Being so light, writing takes a little more wrist work, but weight would come from a pen made of metal or heavier make. For what this pen is, I love it! It’s inexpensive, but made well. It is sleek, it posts, it writes smoothly. Will definitely be using it as an everyday pen. Great for introductions.

These suckers just keep writing. The nibs are a bit needing of some fine tuning in the smoothness department. But out of the box, and the price, not bad at all. Get a converter and some Noodlers bulletproof ink though, and you'll have one pen for the REST of your life, and ink forever too! Also get some blunt syringes to transfer ink to the converter.. mess free.. beautiful. I tried Lamy ink.. not a fan at all.

I can't go back to regular pens. Writing with a fountain pen is so much better, especially with this Lamy Safari fountain pen. It writes so smoothly. I think this is supposed to be an entry level pen. It this is an entry level pen, imagine the smoothness of more expensive fountain pens. I don't think I would do that. This is all I need. I think I will buy 2 more for different color inks.

I own lots of fountain pens, including Waterman and several Mont Blancs, and this one is my FAVORITE! I love the way it feels in my hand and how smoothly it writes. Best of all, the pen writes the very first time even after being capped and set aside awhile, which is something I cannot say for my Waterman, which has to have its "pump primed" every time I open it after it has set or a while unused. Not the Lamy Safari. It's ready to go every time. I also love the white color.

I love Safari pens, though with this one (fine point), it's taken a little while to relieve its hard-start problem. Patience and use fixed this.

I only sketch with pens and I really love cross-hatching. the issue with fountain pens in general, they can be scratchy on watercolor paper or other mix media papers. surprisingly to me, the pin was super easy to use with the converter, the tip is easy to clean out and swap, plus the tip isn't scratching on watercolor paper and mixed media zeta paper. (sorry i can't post pictures, but if I can come back to it, I'll show you just how well this pen has been since I've bought it. I have used this pen everyday since I bought it for exercise purposes and testing its limits. )

I purchased at least 5 of these pens over the past two years due to positive reviews and affordability. I’ve thrown them all away because they stop working after a few months. I clean them and maintain them and watched videos about trouble shooting issues and believe the problems havecome from the gap in the middle of the nib becoming too tight to allow proper ink flow. They say you can adjust this gap by prying them apart with special feeler gauges or tiny pliers, but I’ve not had success with these fixes. I’ve managed to totally ruin a couple nibs by bending them out of shape. This fixed the problem of ink not flowing and the pen did write again, but the nib being bent definitely made writing unpleasant and ink flow went from zero ink coming out to too much. You can buy new nibs and easily swap them but the reason I bought these was affordability, so spending more money to replace parts negates the reason I bought these pen in the first place. I have a nice fountain pen from another brand that writes well and has outlasted several of these safaris from lamy. I’ll be buying the other brand rather than flushing money down the toilet for replacement parts of these junky plastic pens.

I got it from Swovel. I am not an expert of lamy, but this pen has minor differences from my previous lamies. It's very suspicious. Quality is OK-ish.

Me encantó , aunque es una pluma de plástico vale muchísimo la pena adquirirla. El punto es medio , pero lo importante es que la tinta no se corre y no hay gran diferencia con el punto fino.

Love the Lamy Safari!! This is my third addition to the collection and won’t be the last. Love the lightweight of these fountain pens. This fine nib is my favourite- not scratchy, just nice & smooth. I write up to 10 pages without any cramping as it sits so nicely in the hand.
