For RV Use too!!
My application was for use on a 50 Amp RV (Travel Trailer). I used 4 connectors (175Amp) for quick connecting two batteries to an RV so that I can remove batteries quickly when in storage (making my batteries last longer, and dont get stolen!). Schematic is Battery #2-connector - connector- battery #1- connector - connector - trailer wiring. One more thing, the batteries are in battery boxes, and I dont want to constantly remove them from the boxes as well. I can remove the battery boxes from trailer and it acts as a container for transport.Product is well made - BUT - for storage purposes, I ended up buying the rubber dust covers for each end. I see now that the connector AND dust cover are sold together. (recommended). Also, I went with 175A connector for my 50 Amp trailer for 2 reasons: 1) battery to battery connections need higher amp rating as these are deep cycle batteries, and loads between batteries could be more until they balance, and 2) I tend to overrate the building/design and use 8 guage wire along with it so as not to overheat wiring, and make a safe long lasting design.Product design - well done, nice sturdy and see this as a solid (heavy) connector. Connections are solid, and firm when connectedProduct function - took RV trailer out with these connectors and no heat issues, and easy to connect/disconnect. Sped up my battery removal to no time at all.Product improvements - none for the RV.Suggestions for working with this product:1) make sure you measure the length of wires (and proper wire guage) needed and dont have too long of cables before soldering2) use proper type solder (electronic, NOT plumbing) - needs to be said , and have alot of solder on hand - you will use it as you need to fill the pin cavity where the wire is inserted. Ended using solder iron to pre-solder wire, then wadded up solder into pin and used torch for final assembly3) use liquid flux on wires and dip wire in (soak), not just brush (surface) - this will wick in the solder into the braids so it is a better connection4) TAKE YOUR TIME and be neat. There is a ridge on the outside of the pin which needs to be clean from solder to "snap" into casing. I ended up spilling solder and had to file away solder from the ridge to make it snap in properly.5) when done, spray battery protectant (that blue/red stuff) to keep corrosion at a minimum on connector ends

Good value but poor fitting covers
I've used 'Anderson style' connectors of various sizes a number of times both professionally and as a DIY'er. I used these to charge an 18kwh lithium-ion battery pack for my camper from a second, 120A/24V vehicle alternator. These connectors run 80-120A for several hours periodically and worked very well. I have experienced inordinate heating problems with some non-Anderson made connectors in the past but these did not heat up significantly. I was initially concerned because the contacts appear to be nickel plated instead of silver as the OEM contacts are. I connected to the 2AWG, fine stranded cable using a hex crimper and once with solder (a field repair) and both methods seemed reliable. Soldering did require using additional flux to the rosin core solder which seemed to confirm they were not silver plated. One of the attractions of these connectors was the rubber dust connectors. However, the covers were a complete disappointment and are the reason for my 4 stars. Although well made, they fit so loosely on the connector that they would not stay in place for any amount of time. I eventually removed them because they were more likely to be in the way when coupling and provided no benefit. I have purchased 3 sets of these and would again.

Came as shown
Came complete, would be nice if they had a cap cover. Were the only choice I saw for 2 gauge cables so far so good

High current connector
I'm using these connectors with 2Ga welding cable and a 250 amp breaker to electrically connect a 14k dump trailer to my truck. Works great! Now, I don't even need the battery on the trailer.

I would purchase again and recommend this product to my friends and family to purchase
I purchase these for my wench system, so far they work well front and back. I'm thinking of purchasing two more and installing as a quick connect for jumper cables. I would purchase again and recommend this product to my friends and family to purchase.

High continuous power
I have some large power cables that I use to run inverters for actually a mobile DJ system from my truck, they don't pull more than 50 amps or so. This plug is replacing a smaller plug I was previously using but the constant power use on that old plug would heat up the connection and I would loose power. This current blood with big contacts is working perfectly fine.

Great plug for quick-disconnect jumper cables on your truck
Used on a pair of jumper cables and have some 2gauge wire hanging off one of the dual batteries with another. Nice positive connection that's easy to manipulate even with gloves on. Soldered the connectors on without any problems.
