Seven years agoI had ordered this same brand before and it is super potent. I had carefully pulled-off the safety one time and it shot a quick micro-second stream in the house somehow. I began choking so badly I had to open all the windows a place a fan in one to get it aired out. Don’t do that unless your outside!!!

I haven’t had to use it so I can only assume it’ll serve it’s purpose. I do however have an opinion on the “carrying case”. I wish the belt attachment was a hard clip. The soft clip is good IF you wear a belt. But I carry mine while I’m walking my dog or jogging… I can’t carry this on the waistband of exercise clothing. And I can’t wear jeans or a belt when I’m jogging. I still keep it in my car console for emergencies but I still need something I can wear on my waist jogging.

This is the best bear spray on the market by far per all the experts. Let’s hope I don’t have to use it again.

We put these in the vehicle to protect against all those angry urban road blocking bears we seem to be encountering lately. Fits perfectly in the door pockets.

I bought this 2-pack for a motorcycle trip around Kodiak and Denali Alaska. I like the holsters, which make it easy to attach in a quickly accessible location. The safety clip is easy to operate and the spray is quite powerful Upon completing my trip and no longer needing the bear spray, I gave it to a someone from Sweden(?) who was exploring the USA. Unfortunately his english skills were not great and he accidentally set it off inside the hostel. WOW!! Despite not getting a direct blast, the vapor in an enclosed space drove everyone into the yard. The Swedish fellow spent a good bit of time in the shower trying to wash it off, and the hostel host and I devoted the next 30 minutes to getting windows open and then washing down all the surfaces. Even getting some on your hands and accidentally wiping your face was painful... trust me!

Luckily, I've never had to use it, so this review isn't about the effectiveness of the spray against a bear attack. The spray trigger is secured by a plastic tab that is easy to disengage. The holster holds the can with a Velcro strap, designed so that you can quickly undo the strap and grab the can in one swift motion. The can also features a finger hole, making it even more ergonomic. All in all, this seems to be a thoughtfully designed product. My wife and I have carried it on our belts during numerous hikes, and it feels comfortable on the hip.
