In the ingredients section, it says that there is polyethylene, which is plastic. What's plastic used for within the scrub if not for the microbeads?

FYI, The original question was asked in 2015. In the product I received 3/2018, polyethylene is NOT in the list of ingredients. The Microbead-Free Waters Act of 2015 required all products of this type to be microbead free by 7/2017.

How long are you supposed to keep it on your face? It doesn't do very much for me when I just rub it on and rinse it off.

I rub it on and rinse it off. It definitely helps my skin stay clear of blemishes and fresh.

Does it help to remove blackheads?

Not particularly and it leaves a bit of a film on your face. I have switched to St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub.

Can i use this exfoliator with a different brand face wash?

This product is probably best used as the complete package. It, like other face wash products, removes oil from the skin. Using two face washes at once might leave less oily faces too dry.
