So so quality
Still doing the job after 6 yes but the temp setting is about 12 degrees off and I've gone through 2 sets of hinges

Excellent insulation. Not a lot of room.
INterior is really small becuase of the insulation and compressor taking up so much - surprising - make sure it is big enough for what you need it for.

Awesome freezer
Purchased July 2022 and used for 2-week off-grid camping trip. 45qt freezer worked amazing!Used AC power from generator during the day. Temp held steady 0 degrees - regardless of air temperature (ranged from 65 to 98 degrees F).Used DC power in vehicle, and from solar generator while camping at night. Have a Jackery 500; at 70 degree average overnight temps, only used 50% of battery over a 12-hour period. Seems to run a bit more efficiently in DC power mode.To conserve power while on our trip, we shut off all power for up to an hour twice a day; freezer only gained 15 degrees at temperatures of 80 to 85 degrees F. Food did not thaw, no frost build up - not even any water to drain at end of two weeks. We kept both AC and DC cords plugged in all the time; AC took precedent when this power was available.Only consideration; compressor does create a small amount of vibration. (VERY minimal - was only noticed by the (OCD) engineer in the family). We bought small rubber vibration isolation pads (for air compressors etc - $4 ea) and placed under freezer feet. This reduced vibration translation to the floor of our trailer, so now isn't even noticeable.Love the freezer - highly recommend - good product for cost, size, and function. We hope not to have to buy again, but would definitely do so.

Jose at Whynter was extremely helpful
I use this unit both at home for extra freezer space and on the road as a cooler in my Tacoma. It works great, however the power supply went out right after the warranty expired. Jose was kind enough to extend the warranty for one month and offered to begin the shipping process. I asked if he could first send me a new power supply to see if could fix it myself. He agreed, and said if it didn’t work, we could start the shipping process. Three days later, and a 30 minute procedure, and it is good as new! I really appreciate the flexibility, as I had a trip planned and was doubtful about the back and forth shipping and repair making my deadline. Again, thanks Jose, you made this situation manageable with prompt service and reassurance. Kudos!

Works Great
Received it and set it upright for about an hour. Plugged it into 12 volt and it immediately started working. I then plugged it into the 110 volt outlet and it automatically switched over. I have used this portable refrigerator for the last two weeks while traveling with my RV, it has seemlessly switched between the 120 and 12 volt system and worked very well keeping my items cold. I chose the 45 quart model due to the need to be more portable. I would have liked to get the larger model but weight is becoming more of a factor the older I get. I will need to see how well it freezes items as I have only used it as a refrigerator to supplement the fridge in the RV. I am very happy with my purchase.

Great product and support.
I have had my FM45-G for 16 months and now with over a year’s experience I wanted to provide a review of the both the refrigerator and of the company Whynter. First, the unit is as solid as a rock and keeps my food at between 38 and 40 degrees all the time. I love having the large and small baskets as it makes retrieving food and drink so much easier than my former fridge, which just had one big compartment. The unit uses about 260 watt hours per day (about 21.5 amp hours). The FM45-G costs much less than a comparably sized ARB or Dometic unit. I have a lot better things to spend my money on than paying an additional $500 for a big name unit that does the same thing as the Whynter model. My primary use of the refrigerator is in my camping van and I find it to be very quiet. I am a light sleeper and even at 3 feet from my head, it does not wake me when it turns on. Additionally, over the holidays it served as a backup freezer for the turkey and other other items that couldn’t fit in my regular fridge. With respect to Whynter, after 10 months of use, I experienced a power surge that fried the power controller. As the unit was still under the 1 year warranty, Whynter quickly shipped me a new power controller switch. When that didn’t fix the problem, Jackie with Whynter sent me a prepaid shipping label to send the FM45-G fridge back to them. I boxed it up and dropped it off at FedEx, and after checking it out once it got there, Whynter sent me a brand new FM45-G unit. You can’t ask for better customer service than that. I highly recommend this refrigerator.

Great upgrade to our camp game!
This fridge has been a great update to our camping and road trip adventures. We purchased one in 2021 and it worked great for a trip thru the pacific NW and up into Canada and Alaska. Used it for 2 months straight, no issues. Cleaned and stored it for a month or two and back out on the road. Worked great until we hit the 11 month mark. Luckily we emailed the company and they were VERY helpful. Angel with Whytner emailed instructions that were easy to follow. We took the steps and still needed assistance. All emails and advice were prompt and helpful. We ended up with a new fridge in the end.. mailed out with no hassle. 12 month warranty isn’t a joke! If you camp or travel and don’t want the hassle of getting ice, GET A fridge!

Pretty good fridge for camping
Nice chest fridge/freezer, a bit on the heavy side, but robust and well made. There are two power inputs one for AC and one for 12v (or 24v) DC. There's an internal 120v to 12v transformer which would add a bit of weight to the unit and I'd have preferred they include an external power converter instead. The AC cord has a C13 plug on the end so you can use any old computer cable if you lose the included one. There are 3 cooling modes, Fast Freeze, Normal and low power mode. Normal mode would be good while driving with the engine running, however low power mode is what you'll want to use when running off a battery/power pack as the power draw is significantly reduced. In my testing (in eco mode) with the temperature set to 37°F (3°C) while camping I had a power draw of 15Ah (13volts) over a 24 hour period. The ambient temperature during this period was 83 (28°C) during the day and 64 (18°C) at night with a few openings of the lid for beer and at meal times. With the temperature set to 0°F (-17.7°C), the power draw over 24 hours was 39Ah without opening the lid at all. (This was on Eco mode as well)

I used this fridge all summer and it worked great. My battery bank is 200ah and im using agm batteries. I have 200w of solar on the roof. My only other draw is some small LED lights and occasionally my laptop, but the fridge never turned off, and was able to maintain 35-37 degrees Fahrenheit without issue.

Stellar fridge
Just back from a two week trip to southern Utah, this cooler was a champ. Kept everything fresh, low current draw, solid build, no worries. The baskets are great for air circulation. The latch was well done, kept things in place off road. I bought the cover for it as well, highly recommend that too.

Good freezer, but not really "portable"
Great Freezer, but really heavy... especially when full of fish! We use this for fishing trips and although it works really well, it is not very "portable" due to it's weight. We now use it at home as a secondary freezer (can never have enough freezer space). We bought the Dometic CC-40US to use as our travel freezer, and it is MUCH easier/lighter to haul around. Still, the FM-45G is solidly constructed, and has been trouble free operation from day 1. So 4 stars for that. But if you are looking for something truly portable, the Dometic CC-40US is only half the weight, and holds nearly the same amount.

Very solid and well built.
I bought this for a fishing trip in the early summer, unfortunately it didn't arrive until we got back. I then used it during a 3000k road trip and it worked wonderfully!. Took me a bit to get used to the Fahrenheit as I'm a Celsius man, but once that was figured out I always had cold food and drink for driving around. The cooler is also well insulated and I didn't worry about having it powered off for 12-30hrs and keeping everything cool.My only gripe is that it is very heavy for it's size, but I just left it in one place in the truck and didn't remove it until the trip was over.
