Is the back cover smooth plastic i.e will slip on smooth surfaces, or does it have some friction?

Yes the back is smooth plastic the inside of front cover like a felt . It stands well when propped up with the cover folded onto itself . I am very pleased with this product .

Does this have auto wake / sleep?

As you may know, the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2019 tablet itself doesn't have sleep/wake capabilities, so that there is no case offering this feature.

Do i need to get someone to put the screen protector on or can i do it myself?

You can put it on. Just make sure you get all the air bubbles out when you put it on. Start at one end and slowly press it over the screen a bit at a time

Does the case switch the tablet off when you close it and on when you open it

The tablet closes down when I close the case, and when I open the case I need to restart the tablet i.e tap the tablet twice and put my passcode in. Hope this helps.

Hard to Access control buttons.

The case itself is of good quality and holds up well. Foldability etc fine.Unfortunately the access control buttons are hard to get at as they are flush with case and not really accessible.Thus is important as if Yiu don't have touch On/off screen
