AkebonoACT1094 Proact Ultra Premium Ceramic Disc Brake Pad kit , GREY

These are equal in quality to the OEM Nissan ceramic pads (I was told from a little birdy, that Akebono manufactures Genuine Nissan pads)! No dust, no squealing, and they last a long time. I bought these to replace a set of Napa Ultra Premium pads that lasted only 14 months (garbage pads, DO NOT BUY them!). Napa pads put black dust all over my rims, they squeaked every time I braked, and they severely grooved my new rotors.This kit comes with 4 ceramic pads (only 1 pad has the wear indicator on it), 4 stainless steel slide plates, and 4 spring clips (which is nice, because Nissan pads only come with 2). Make sure you use all 4 spring clips, even if your Nissan only used 2, it helps spread the pads back out evenly.So far, these pads have been great! I also replaced the rotors when I installed these Akebono pads. These pads are about $40 cheaper than Genuine Nissan Pads, so I do recommend these pads for both the front and rear.FYI, I drive a 2005 Nissan Frontier crew cab 2wd.CPS

Installed these a couple weeks ago. They are noticeably better than the original pads. No noise and better brake feel.

Quality pads, easy to install, come with all the necessary hardware, and don't seem to create much dust. But during the break-in period they squeal really bad, especially if they/the rotor is freezing cold.

These brake pads were perfect replacements for my Nissan Frontier PRO-4X. I was told Akebono made the OEM pads for Nissan; however, the pads I pulled off my Nissan were made my Hitachi. The quality of the Akebono pads is superb and comes with all the appropriate clips and anti-squeal covers. My only complaint is the pads only come with 2 grams of moly anti-squeal grease, about half the amount required to do both wheels. The pads were super easy to replace, fit perfectly and stop the car on a dime without any squeaks.

This brand never fails, been using it for many years. Can't go wrong with japanese.

OEM fit !

Like all Akebono pads I've used, these are low dust and great with NVH. Stopping distance and bite are about equal to OEM. Time will tell how long the last and whether the performance holds up over time. I was hoping for slightly better performance vs. OEM and maybe should have gone with the Performance pad instead.I was disappointed that the friction material on the pads are about 3/16" narrower side to side than the OEM pads. You'd think that Akebono would want to provide as much pad surface area as OEM. Also, while it was nice to get a complete kit with the stainless steel hardware included, the fit was not so good. While the OEM brackets snap into the caliper holder and hold tight, the Akebono-supplied brackets fit loosely and make it very hard to slide with the pads into the brackets as they want to constantly come loose and fall out of place. You might be better off cleaning up the old OEM brackets and reusing them to avoid the frustration.
