A politically incorrect classic!
It’s that cheap, faintly lined newsprint — just like back in elementary school.

Classic and timeless
While growing up, my grandmother always had a Big Chief tablet and a box of crayons in the bottom drawer of the English desk in the living room for the grandkids. I inherited the desk and it was wonderful to put the Big Chief and crayons on the drawer once more!

Exactly as I remembered it and nice quality
This tablet has lines like wide rule notebook paper. It's made with the same glue at the top and type of paper as it was 30 years ago (yipes...) when I was in elementary school using these tablets because they were on the school supply list. Easy to tear out and the paper has a kind of newspaper feel. The landscape formatted paper has the dotted line between the top and bottom lines. If you're using it to train or teach good penmanship habits, this one would probably be good for 2nd or 3rd grade and up because it offers no visual assistance with upper vs. lower case placement. I would suggest using the larger version with the dotted line at the beginning.

Bought it more as a memento than a writing tablet
So the fact that the pages are extremely thin and will likely atrophy quickly didn't bother me. I bought it for the cover and for jotting down things like trivia and jokes. You don't want to use this to write a family history that you will pass on to the succeeding generations. You also want to use a pencil and maybe a ball point pen. Anything else will most likely bleed through the pages.
