Great, easy to use camcorder
We were looking for an inexpensive but not cheap camcorder to make some YouTube and other videos, and this is perfect.

Best Cam Below $200
This was a great deal. The HDR-CX 405 is probably the best camcorder in it's price range, as far as I could tell from my research. The image quality is on par, if not better than most of the camcorders with similar price tags and a few that are in the next tier. This kit was a pretty damn good deal considering all of the stuff you get for only $8 more than the base price of the camera alone.

Almost movie quality
We have video of lots of things and we always talk about the quality of the video. This little camera produced almost professional quality. Its amazing.

Not for live streaming
It’s a good camera, but one thing I need to make clear hdmi is not a clean stream, unless you have already recorded the video so this can not be used for live streaming.

Camera broken on the inside!!
Ordered this bundle deal during the summer for a Christmas gift. What a HUGE MISTAKE..💩. She opened the box for the first time, took out the camera, turned it on & nothing but blurry light (out of focus Christmas lights) when you press the zoom button to try focusing the camera nothing changes on screen but you can feel a small clink inside the camera where the lens is trying to adjust and focus in. (( it's broken on the inside..)) Definitely not the gift I was trying to give 😭 what a horrible Christmas.😭😭

Constant Chirping
The package is a great deal, but the camera itself emits a soft electronic rattle that can be heard whenever you get close to it. I noticed a cricket-like sound on several of my recordings. I thought that it was just room noise for the longest. Nope. It's from the camera. I can drop some of the frequencies out in editing, but never entirely. Additionally, the more you take out those frequencies, the more you sound like you're in a hallway. Sony Troubleshooting wasn't helpful. I reset, checked the screws. Nope. Still there.I can get away with it for acting auditions, although it kind of annoying. If you're thinking about getting this for simple music performances, don't.Additionally, I have really wanted a setting for how long the camera stays on when on standby. I keep it on standby to adjust lighting etc and find that I need to flip the screen a few times to keep it kicking.
