Stays cold for a very long time ...
I gave it 5 stars even though mine started leaking 1 year 5 months after I purchased it. Why? Because unless I was expecting Superpack that is pretty good considering the use it received. I used this almost daily and sometimes more - that is a lot of uses. Also, since I use it at night, often I fall asleep with it which means I am tossing and turning on it all night. I have taken it on trips many times as well.I love how squishy it is as it conforms to your body easily and can be folded to to fit in the freezer. The vinyl exterior feels rubbery and is a little stretchy - when not frozen. It has a clay-like material inside and seems to stay cold for a lot longer than my many gel packs. I have lower back problems that have disrupted my lifestyle in a major way, so I have tried many different products. This was the best cold pack.Although I am sure it wasn't meant to be used this way, I lay on or against the pack most of the night. As it warms up, it becomes more pliable so when the coldness is gone it conforms to my body and gives me just the right amount of back support.I am buying a new one (or two) right away.

'NOTthe same'!!! VERY wrong.
I've ordered many, MANY of these. There always soft 'GEL'!!Mine feels like it's filled with flat stones?? I've never experienced this and this way purchase number 7!!!Very let down.Unfortunately my husband opened it and threw everything away.Kind of pricey to possibly bring thrown away. It's in the freeze in a bag to see what happens when it freezes.0 STARS but they force you to give one? Clever.

Big and Good
Very good and very LARGE ice pack. I've used this following complicated foot/leg surgery and it's good for covering & wrapping a large area at once rather than multiple small packs. Note: get the Wraptor - a separate elastic strap to hold the big pack in place. It has Velcro, which is helpful if you want a pack to stay put.A friend sewed two felt covers for this pack - also helpful since you don't want it directly against your skin. It *does* take up a fair amount of room in the freezer and must be stored flat, but that's a good incentive for cleaning out aged items!

Love the size, and they keep the cold for a long time
Mine came filled with a brownish/tan clay instead of the gel as advertised. The reason I know this is because they ooze a bit at the seam -- not enough to make a mess, and not enough that they're going to be empty anytime in the near future. Don't know if it's a result of the stiffness or a manufacturing defect. They do chill very well and hold the cold as long as the gel, but they are stiffer and not as pliable as the ones at my therapist's office. They're still doing the job 3 months later.

Shoulder surgery? Get this now!
Mi wife had a shoulder replaced a Ed extensive rotor cuff surgery on the other. This ice pac is a pain saver! Takes about two hours to freeze. When used, takes about two hours to thaw.Freezing is your friend after shoulder surgery. This works beautifully.

Large, cold, and pliable, work great.
Bought these on recommendation of my Physical therapist for cold treatment following post operative recovery therapy exercises. They are LARGE. They do exactly as designed. They get cold in the freezer, stay pliable and can cover my entire hip (on one side). Work best if your freezer has space enough for them to lay flat. The rudimentary instruction sheet (come on, like how many instructions does anyone need?) recommends putting a towel between the cold pack and your skin to prevent frost bite. So far I've put them through about 30 cycles, no leaks, no complaints. One suggestion, wipe condensation off cold pack before putting it back in freezer. Otherwise ice forms which is messy.

Sorry, I mistakenly gave the [The Therapist's Choice® Blue Vinyl Cold Pack] a 2-star rating!
Sorry, I mistakenly gave the [The Therapist's Choice® Blue Vinyl Cold Pack (7"X22" Cervical)] a 2-star instead of a 5-star Rating! Note that my intention, instead, was to give the [Chattanooga ColPac - Reusable Gel Ice Pack - Oversize Large Ice Pack] the 2-star rating because the weight of said [Oversize Large Ice Pack] it is way to heavy to for me to apply on the affected areas of my recent ORIF (femur) surgery involving a long titanium rod and screws that are hold my thighbone together! Sorry for the confusion.

Doesn’t work as well
I wouldn’t recommend itIt doesn’t stay cool enough for my hands. I go to physical therapy and the ice pack that my therapist uses on my hands is much stronger than the one I purchased
