Works very well
No longer available from this vendor, but I needed a second one. Had to purchase from another vendor, but although they look very similar, that new one does not work as well and seems to have some defects.

worked well for just over a year and then stopped working
I used this almost constantly for about a year and had no complaints. The HDMI would not support 4k but i knew this as was mainly using it for ethernet and USB including pass through charging and had no issues with it at all. Then it just stopped working, no USB connections, no ethernet, and no passthrough charging of my laptop. If it were cheaper i wouldnt have minded it only lasting a year but i went for a slightly more expensive one thinking that it would be better quality and last longer.

Great adaptor, perfect space grey colour.
One of the best I’ve seen in terms of different ports. Not many have the lan input so great advantage.Works perfect.Heats up a little when using multiple ports but never stops working or gets too warm.Matches the space grey Mac perfectly.

Value for money
You get what you pay for and this is a perfect example.I recently bought a 2019 13" entry-level MacBook Pro. This has a 128GB HDD which is almost useless. So I added a Samsung T5 500GB USB SSD and moved most of the apps to it. It works really well and there is no difference in performance. The downside is that, as there are only 2 USB-C ports, with the external drive and power all ports are taken.I already had a USB-C hub with HDMI and ethernet but only one USB-C for power. This was a bit intermittent as far as the connection to the remote screen goes and it got really hot. So I bought this as it has the extra USB-C port.Overall, it works. I am using it in clamshell mode with a 28" 4K ASUS monitor and Synergy so I have 2 screens for my PC and one 1 for the mac. The mac screen looks great so no complaints there. The hub gets warm but nowhere near as much as my old one. I can connect my iPhone using the additional USB-C (it isn't fast enough for the T5) and a spinning external USB 3 drive for TimeMachine (speed is not important here). The main, and probably only bad point is the ethernet port. I have Virgin internet at 350mbps. Speed tests over wireless get full results 370/36. Using the ethernet on this hub, connected to a gigabit hub, I get 85/36. This is still quick enough for Synergy to work flawlessly but still a little disappointing.Regardless, it is a £30 hub that is perfectly usable and very portable. If you don't need the speed (ethernet and extra USB-C) then it is a very good product and great value for money.

Unsafe - performance issues.
This product works fine but it gets insanely hot. I'm questioning its safety it let's that hot if left on for longer than 30 minutes.I can't even place my hand on it.UPDATE - Lowering the review to 1 star, I'd give it 0 if possible.Performance has degraded even more since my original post, the screen flickers and blinks when I have devices plugged into the USB sockets and display... I.e. when using the dock for what it is meant to be used for.I've read similar experiences and suspect that these docks without their own power supply dont have sufficient power to run and cause performance issues like disconnecting and screen flickers.I bought this to try and save money but have ended up spending even more as now I've had to buy an expensive dock anyway!

Saves time and effort whenever I need to plug/unplug devices to my laptop
I should have bought this along time ago. This USB hub makes my life easier as I just need to connect one cable and everything else goes with it. Saves a lot of time. I don't need to plug/ unplug the Internet cable, mouse, keyboard etc. All ports are working fine.
