Really impressed by this piece!
Really impressed by this piece. Looks absolutely amazing!Delivery: It’s a really long and heavy package but it’s wrapped really well with bubble wrap for protection which is really good. Make sure you’re there at the apartment or house to pick it up. You would definitely need help to bring it into your place.Assembly: I was first daunted by the reviews thinking it would be a real chore to put it together. At first the instructions were overwhelming. They’re not like Ikea where it goes step by step so you have to split it up yourself which isn’t too bad after you understand what you’re doing. It took me less than 2 hours to put together everything.Looks: For the price that we paid - this looks amazing. Really sturdy and looks like something you would buy at West Elm. Really really impressed by quality.Functionality: The drawers have this spring which allow you to press to open which is super handy. Drawers are easy to open and close. The glass door slides and pretty easy to maneuver.Shelving: I did something funky with the middle shelving. I have a home theater receiver which is wider than the normal shelves. So I shaved off the center board to be flush with the shelf so that the top half extends the whole way which makes placing the receiver way easier. I use the bottom for misc things like blankets.TV: 65” Samsung KS8000Audio Receiver: Denton S510BTSpeakers: Pioneer SP-BS21Summary: Overall amazing build quality and looks fantastic.

Looks great! Your gaming consoles may not get the best ventilation though
This is an awesome console / media center. It definitely is the focal point of our living room.. well or holds the focal point because of our TV buuuut either way it adds a nice modern look. Before I bought this, I had a huge three tiered media center that was insanely expensive, heavy, and in the end just not worth the price at all. It constantly needed to be wiped, it was a huge dust magnet and we were wary of even touching it since finger prints would be left on it. The only positive and negative about that console was that it was open, so our gaming consoles were well ventilated - but left for dust and wires to exposed. Learning my lesson from that media center, I saw this and wanted to upgrade. It looked similar to the ones they sell at IKEA (and many friends have said the same, asking if that's where I bought it so they could buy it as well).Highly recommend, keeps wires and consoles hidden and neat. Installation instructions are vague but if you're used to putting together IKEA furniture then this will be similar. My husband had it built in an hour or so. I've seen other reviews mentioning that their blu-ray players / gaming consoles / etc. didn't fit in the four shelved compartments but my PS3 fit fine. The one negative though is that the ventilation is pretty horrible for any gaming console. Be sure to keep the glass door open when whatever player or gaming console is on or else it will surely overheat.

Beautiful, functional, sturdy, but the WORST assembly ever.
First the good stuff. And there's a lot of good stuff. This console arrived well packaged, and even though the delivery company was obviously very rough with the package, ripping it open in several locations, bashing in a corner, and delivering the box onto a slushy mound of wet snow directly under a dripping gutter, the console was perfectly undamaged. So Kudos to the packing team at Monarch for a job well done!Once assembled, the console is beautiful and was exactly what I was looking for. This color (gray wood) is somewhat difficult to find, and this was exactly as described. The color was true to the images in the product listing, and the dimensions were accurate. The drawers with the push-to-open mechanism is great, and works perfectly, and leads to a sleek handle-free look which I love. And the drawers open and close smoothly and seem to be sturdy enough to handle whatever I store in them. The sliding glass front is really well done, and looks amazing. It slides freely and is perfectly aligned for easy access to each of the shelves, depending on which way it is slid open. Really well designed, and engineered.Overall sturdiness is fantastic. It is solid, and I love the 5th leg in the middle of the console to support higher weight without developing a sag. The entire console has a very heavy, sturdy feel and it sits evenly on the ground without wobbling.I also appreciated the rubber cable grommets in the back panels that hide the cable holes. It adds a nice pro touch to the whole thing. Now on to the bad.I'm a handy person. Like, a power-tool wielding, semi-professional workshop in my basement, used to build houses handy person.Other reviews mentioned the difficult assembly and lacking instructions, but I see this on nearly every product on Amazon. Everyone complains about how hard stuff is to put together. So I just assumed it was normal complaining and I'd have no trouble.Boy was I wrong. The instructions are absurd. There are not many words. It's all pictures. And the image for step 1 consisted of the assembly of 7 different sections of the console with tiny little pictures of where the screws go and which piece of hardware goes where. Ok sure, I guess that's fine, but the real kicker was all of the hardware was standard, multi-hole hardware. So you have to look REALLY CLOSE (like with a magnifying glass) to determine which set of holes you're supposed to use for each piece of hardware to get the alignment right. It would be incredibly easy for someone to install the hardware backwards, our out of alignment due to not using the right set of holes. Also, the fasteners package isn't labeled, so you're supposed to just figure out which screws to use for which parts. This wasn't particularly difficult for me to figure out, but I could see it giving someone less experienced trouble. One nice touch was the inclusion of wood glue for the dowels. This makes the build stronger and sturdier overall, but take note that this will not be able to be disassembled. Once it's together, it's together forever. The entire assembly process took me about an hour and 30 minutes, and that was with a powered screwdriver which really sped things up. If you decide to use a power driver for this job, make sure to set the clutch to the lowest torque setting so that you don't strip the holes as this composite material isn't as forgiving as solid wood. The last negative about this is the ventilation within the shelves. After getting everything set up and running, my kiddo decided to play some Spiderman on the PS4. Within about 5 minutes the fans were running like crazy. I immediately opened the glass to allow some air in, but it didn't seem to make much of a difference. Pulling the PS4 out of the cubby a little allowed it to cool down, but that doesn't seem like a sustainable solution to the problem. I'm going to end up cutting some ventilation holes in the back panel and mounting a PC exhaust fan to keep the airflow circulating.Overall, I'm pleased with the product for the price. Especially for something so specific in color and design. I would definitely buy this again, but I might set aside a little more time for assembly, and perhaps have a beer or shot of whiskey first to ease the frustration of the instructions.

VERY nice piece
This is a great addition to my family room!!! The assembly was simple as long as one takes their time and read directions. In a couple of hours I had a beautiful addition. I really enjoy the push to release drawers and the space of every compartment. Who would of thought that someone actually put grommets behind the console to pass all those wires through? First time in a while I did not need to drill out with hole saws. Nice look, affordable, and strong. What's not to like?
