Not for smart dogs...
1st of all, I did not get this to slow down a fast eater. We free feed our dogs, so we have never had a problem with gulping food or bloating.Unfortunately, our youngest dog has another habit; namely, picking up a mouthful of food, carrying it away, dumping it elsewhere (floors, couches, yard, etc...), abandoning it for a while, then, occasionally wandering back at a later date and time to nibble on it.Needless to say, this is behavior we would like to see stop.Consequently, we decided this type of bowl might help solve, or at least mitigate, the problem.Alas, we underestimated our dog, who is a Doberman. As people who have had Dobermans know, they are above average problem solvers, which is why we should not have been surprised when about 10 minutes after the bowl was filled, our sweet girl had already figured out a work around....Basically, instead of having to eat her kibble out of the bowl a few pieces at a time, she just flipped the bowl over, so she could get as much as she wanted off the floor. This has left us trying to figure out how to make the bowl un-flippable.Honestly, this bowl will do what it is designed to do, UNLESS your dog is the extra mischievous type who sees every obstacle as a challenge to be overcome. In that case, you'll probably just get stuck picking a lot of kibble up off the floor.

It slows him down
The media could not be loaded. I have a large black lab and he used to inhale his food, just scooping it in his mouth and swallowing it. This dish has helped dramatically. At first he hated it, it took him a while to eat and he completely gave up on the last few pieces (he never turns down any kind of food!). After a couple of feedings he began to get used to it. While this bowl does what it is intended to do, he still doesn't chew his food, not sure what to do about that.

works great and is very sturdy and easy to wash.
got this to help slow down my doggo from inhaling his food in less than 30 seconds and it does exactly what i bought it for! it doesn't suction to the ground at all, its just a hard plastic edge with inverted center but i have carpet floors so this isn't an issue for me at all. i can see if you had hard floors that this would probably move around so you might want to buy a rubber mat for underneath it if your floors are hard wood or laminate. it's very easy to clean with a nice scrubbing brush but it does need to air dry; i suppose it's possible to dry by hand with paper towel but it would be very time consuming. i make sure i wash after the last meal of the day so it has time to dry completely overnight before my dog's breakfast the next morning.

Great product for a very reasonable price
This works great. I just adopted a Doberman who had been starved, so he literally inhaled his food. I was concerned about bloat so I looked for a slow feeder and people had really good things to say about it, and they were right. This fits 2 cups, no problem. He pushes it around, so no suction, wish it had a rubber bottom with weight to make it harder to be dragged around, that’s my only criticism.

Definite a must for a fast eater!
My Doberman puppy would eat so fast she would often throw up. NOT any more. It slowed down her feeding time from 1 minute to 2-3 ... now, 3 months later she is taking over 5 minutes to eat. A win win for her digestive system and she seems content to often leave some food in the dish because she knows it isn't going anywhere. I do wish it would have fit in her raised feeder, we had to duck tape it to, but it is still has more plusses than minuses.

Successfully slowed labrador retriver at meal time
This bowl has very substantially slowed down the speed of eating for our labrador retriever. It now takes her about 3 minutes to get all the food and juice out of the bowl instead of 30 seconds. The bowl is very light and gets pushed around a lot. Also it's not the highest quality of plastic in my opinion. I won't be surprised if it needs to be replaced in a year or so. I would buy the same bowl again.

Bowl full of Skittles
I bought this for my Labradoodle. That sucker used to eat his food faster than an overweight stay at home mom eating McDonalds. I was to the point where he was going to have to meet his friend Ol’Yeller soon due to his bloating. This bowl practically saved Dukes life! He takes around 10 minutes to eat now. The first couple days was a learning curve. Great bowl and seems sturdy.

Black Medium Bowl
Pup was still able to flip it but he’s smart. Bowl did move quiet a bit. But isn’t a deal breaker. Fit into the Bowl stand I have, will need to upgrade tho.
