The best of FODMAP eating plan cookbooks
There are several FODMAP books and cookbooks available -- not too many. But I think this is the best cookbook. I follow FODMAP as a lifestyle because of GI issues. I am NOT one of those people who will use FODMAP for 3 or 4 months and then work all the high FODMAP foods back into my regular food plan. For me, FODMAP is the baseline. From there I may be able to add three or four higher FODMAP foods in -- but that is pretty much it. I like this cookbook because the recipes are sensible -- there are many easy recipes that are very similar to dishes we all probably made before FODMAP, with just some FODMAP-based tweaks. To me, the recipes in this books are also easier to modify than those in other cookbooks. If I am in the mood to try something new, I can usually find what I want in this book.

Simple, interesting, and planned out.
This book has some interesting recipes in this like 'Coconut-Curry Tofu with Vegetables' that I personally don't know if I would make, BUT then there are some recipes that I know I would make! 'Chicken Enchiladas'I really like that it has 4 Week Meal plan that corresponds with all the recipes in the book. When I was little I started having really bad intestinal problems, to which I still have. Finding this I am quite persuaded on doing the Month plan.Note: I was able to review this book for FREE for my honest review, and honestly it has pretty simple recipes and if you have stomach problems I would recommend this book!

Know what you are buying
This has a lot of nice recipes. However it is not clear what exactly is in the recipe that is helping the gut. If it is a combination of sugar from fruit and some wheat product, then that really does not work for a diabetic at all. There is nothing else or rather no alternatives that I would consider diabetic friendly. The book itself is ok if you have no other health problems and think you can follow the recipes for say a year... but it does not really say how long you need to follow the diet. If you are expecting a PLAN, this is not the book for you. If you just want recipes, then it is a nice book with some simple but interesting recipes. The fact that it is labeled as a cook book and not a plan book should probably garner another star but I wanted to make sure the buyer knows what they are getting and read the review.

useful information
This cookbook has some good recipes for things like ketchup, broths, and sauces that add flavor to meals but are not easy or cheap to find premade for the FODMAP diet. It also has tips on how to add flavor (green onion stems, onion and garlic infused oil, e.g) without the fodmap sugars. The "substitute this for that tables" are useful as are the conversion tables and appendices. I am not a cook or dietician but I think the recipes can be adjusted to use ingredients you might prefer or have on hand. I like the Asian and other cuisine inspired recipes that use spices that add flavor without whole onion and garlic. The recipes are simple enough that I can follow them.I can't say that these recipes are geared for those with all digestive issues such as diverticulosis or GERD. But they will help me with IBS symptoms which have been improved by following FODMAP restrictions.

Great book for ibs!
I decided to buy this book after I had to return it to the library. Really good collection of low FODMAP recipes. I've had ibs for years and started exploring to low FODMAP diet this year. I also have to eat low carb, and there are lots of recipes that are low or lower in carbs. Each recipe has nutrition facts per serving, which helps. I actually ran out if post-it notes marking all the recipes I want to make! Made the Asian-Style Pork Meatballs (subbed beef and skipped the fish sauce) and the Beef Bone Broth and both turned out great. If you're brand new to the low FODMAP diet the overview of it in the beginning of the book is short, so you might want something more in-depth. But for recipes this book is great!

Great recipes
We've found that many of these recipes are so good that my husband eats them too, though he doesn't have a gut problem. The Smoky Eggplant Dip is something I use every day with my veggies. The Mustard and Maple Syrup Chicken is really good too. The Polenta and Strawberries recipe with the coconut milk is heavenly. Really good info and we switch up things in the recipes sometimes and really enjoy them. The only one we haven't mastered is the risotto.

So far...decent.
Not the best flavors, but still edible. Haha. We've actually tried four recipes so far. Not my favorites, but my wife needed to change things up for her IBS. She's doing pretty well on these meals, so that is a win. I just miss onions and garlic so much...
