My husband rides a bike to exercise. During the summer when the days are longer, I don't worry about him, but as summer days shorten, I start thinking about this. Even though it was expensive, I bought him a set of these lights -- wondering if they would work and if they were really bright. The product has what it call smart rings of LEDs that synchronize to the speed you are riding, thus creating a legal headlight, functional brake light and true 360º visibility for the bike. I love technology and these Revolights are intelligent LED rings that project light past his front tire, illuminating the path in front of him and creating a usable headlight that actually makes things visible including elevated objects such as street signs. Each wheel consists of 24 equally spaced bright LEDs, with 8 on at any given moment.They do add weight, but my husband's comment was that he was exercising so he thought he was just burning more calories without tying ankle weights on. Some found the balance was off, but my husband said he didn't notice that. He also commented that he was trying to stay healthy and not get ready to participate in a bike race.The back lights are red and much more visible than the back light he had on his bike. He loves these and I feel a little more comfortable about night riding.
