clean cooking from a good name
this works well, especially grilling meats. excess fat and moisture collects in the drip tray and once cooled down the plates can be put in the dishwasher. Have been using this one for some time which was bought to replace my previous George Foreman grill which after many years service had begun to lose the non stick surface. I wouldn't be without one in the kitchen. Small enough to store in the cupboard when not in use but large enough to grill 8 sausges at a time.

George Foreman grill
Bought this for my daughter's family and she's been very pleased with it. Much better than her old one, she said and a lot easier to clean

Bulky
It's a lovely product and cooks food well. If you put the plates in water to soak straight away it's really easy to clean. It's quiet heavy and awkward to put away. A clip to keep it closed when not in use would be helpful.

Still a good addition to any kitchen
I read reviews saying the specifications had been downgraded from the previous model. I was replacing one, and I agree it's different. I had to learn how to open the lid safely, and I actually bought oven gloves as I found it a little worrying, but now I'm used to it, it's fine. The old version had a stainless steel handle, and this doesn't, but as long as you hold the edge of the lid, it's quite safe. The plates are easy to put on and off, and clean up well. The drip tray on mine doesn't seem to stay in place, but it hasn't been a problem really. All in all I like it.

I don't like it
I am a big fan of George Foreman grills and have owned many in the past. This is the first one I've had with removable plates, and I think it's a good idea.My original review included some moaning about this grill being too horizontal - But I have just noticed that it has a pull out thing on the bottom to prop it up and give it an angle for the fat to run off (not sure how I missed that!).But even so, I still don't like this grill. The one it replaced was a smaller 4 portion one which was much better because it just seems so much hotter - this one just doesn't seem as hot (probably because it's bigger). It still does the job but it doesn't really sear meat as well as the smaller one did.The plates are also too big to fit in my sink which makes them a bit annoying to clean. Ok if you have a big sink or a dishwasher though.

Great unit - so easy to clean, and cooks food better!
Just a quick review... Two important aspects I've noticed in comparison to my old, more standard Foreman grill this unit replaced.First the removable plates make such a difference to cleaning, which I always dreaded with the older unit (and really struggled to get it truly clean). Being able to remove the plates and wash them properly makes cleaning so much easier and more effective, especially for the top plate which (I guess because of gravity means the oil/fat goes to the lower plate) always ended up with burned on food which was hard to remove without soaking.Secondly, as others have commented, the plates don't get as hot as a standard Foreman, I'm guessing because the removable plates introduce a small gap between heating element and plate. I originally worried about this and swithered before buying. However, while this means that heat up and cooking take longer, I actually think this is an advantage. Essentially the food cooks better - less barbeque (ie burned on outside, raw on inside) and actually better cooked all the way through. Also if you accidentally leave the food on longer than you intended it doesn't burn as quickly as would happen with the old unit.So I'm very pleased with the purchase - the easy cleaning and more thorough (albeit slower) cooking are great! Only reason not to give five stars are the weird fold down leg to angle the unit (looks flimsy, can't see it lasting), rather pointless/useless power cord storage (doesn't really work) and it's significantly bulkier than the old unit for roughly the same cooking surface size. Still would highly recommend though!

Love this George Forman
It’s so easy to clean then the old version. The price is acceptable for that what it is. I only missing the control temperature for the meat but that you can get for different price. I am happy with it and I can only recommend it.
