I wasn't sure they would be strong enough being a magnet, but he hasn't pulled it off the end at all. I like how he just goes nuts on it and I barely even have to move it around, just dangle it off the end of the couch. Our ceiling fan moves the feathers too without even having to move the rod at all, and that gets him to jump at it too. This is Milton and he'd already been doing this for over 5 minutes. Overall, no complaints.

Having a detachable magnet is a fantastic idea, giving the cat the reward of capturing The Prey..But we ran into 2 problems:.== The magnet wasn't attached to either "side," so I needed to superglue it to one..== The "fishing pole" rod is in 2 parts, which is nice, but these 2 parts connect very loosely, so unless you superglue those too, you essentially can use only half of the fishing pole.

I have two cats. I have a 6 year old who doesn’t play much, and a kitten. I ordered this toy for my kitten and not only does she love it, my 6 year old cat will actually play with it. So far it’s pretty durable, and I let my dog play with it so it’s “dog tested” and approved. I will be ordering more for backup!

This is an awesome cat toy! I was worried at first about the magnets but they are really strong and I love that the toy is interchangeable so when little man gets tired of one I can switch it out! Awesome cat toy!!!

The feathers attach with very sturdy magnets. Great toy, Very durable!

Great toy! It’s magnetic, which at first I thought would be a problem, but my cat loves that she can pull off the toy! I can quickly place the string back over the feathers and continue playing.

ORIGINAL REVIEW (See update at end) Oh no. The magnet came out of the feather attachment and I had to grab it before kitty ate it. Not such a safe toy. Also can't pull much back because the two piece wand attachment comes apart.UPDATE: The owner of the small family company had immediately contacted me. There is a small chance of defect and they have agreed to send me a new one. I'll make another update when I get the new one.
