I can NOT believe that this product does not have the fake tan smell, even after it has been on 5-6 hours of processing time. Literally have never had that happen & Ive tried a lot of other brands from retail store to higher end cosmetic and popular brands, in sprays, drops, mousse, cream, air brush and tanning salon spray tans and never have I ever had a product that didn’t have that weird chemical smell within a few hours of application. With some brands even after showering and applying a scented lotion will still smell if I get warm or perspire and I hate that smell, but the smell is better than harming my skin tanning, so I continue on using and searching for products. I have definitely found my new favorite. I’m blonde, 49 and despite having very pale skin with some freckles, I tan pretty easy. I love the look of a good tan, but now I’m cautious about my skin. The color of the bronzing guide was beautiful on my skin. Didn’t look grey, green or orange. The product says it’s tropical scented but I didn’t notice that. This went on great and processed wonderfully. 1 application and it looked like I had been at the beach for a couple of days. A very nice and even tan. It didn’t even make my freckles or age spots look darker, which some brands do. My only negative is, I don’t really care for the self tanning sprays, but this product had great reviews & I’m so glad I tried it. Sprays, especially aerosol ones, just seem to be messier and somehow manages to land quite a distance away from where i tan. I usually tan in my bathtub/shower combo. Standing on an old towel and then I have to clean our tile and grout, and that’s not fun, but this being a pump spray versus aerosol spray, I decided just to hold my tanning glove over the sink and spray it on the glove instead of my body. This worked and the mess was very minimal and easily washed right out of the sink. So far I haven’t had any skin breakouts but this the first application. I don’t work outside my home, so I will usually apply early in the morning. Wash off before bed bc the normal sunless tanner smell will usually keep me from sleeping. But this time after my shower, I reapplied bc I want a very deep dark look. I’m thrilled to have found a product that has finally met my desires & goals. I hope this wears well and isn’t too hard to maintain or to evenly and easily remove when it’s time to slough off the layers and start fresh. The darker I go shortens the time period of how long I can just reapply before it starts rubbing off in weird areas and gets patchy, but who knows, maybe that won’t be an issue with this product. That remains to be seen since this is just my first application day of this product, but right now it’s definitely a winner. The color after applying looks so nice, I could easily apply and go out without waiting for it to develop. It didn’t transfer to my clothes, but I didn’t get hot or sweaty. So a few things still remains to be seen but I have high hopes.

Best self tanner I've found. I've been using this for a few years now. Once in a while I try something else but nothing compares, and I always come back to Fake Bake Flawless Darker. Why? It's a nice brown color when you apply it, so there's no wondering where you have/have not applied it, plus you immediately look tan! It develops into a really nice dark tan (not orange!), dries very fast on your skin and does not leave you sticky at all, and the scent is great. I've not had any issues with the color transferring to my clothes after I get dressed. There is literally no DHA self-tanner smell with this at all, rather just a nice coconut scent. The color lasts at least 3-4 days if not more. LOVE this stuff.

OK I literally have way too much to say about this stuff but SPOILER: you will buy this after you finish reading this. This stuff is incredible. Like I can't even begin to explain. So I was online looking for a self tanner..came across a few "meh" products then found this which I've never even heard of but the #of reviews and how every single one of them raved about it I was sold..in fact I bought the original and the darker version because I couldn't decide. Right off the bat I'm going to say that I would recommened the darker one just because I am pretty pale and the darker one is just less time consuming for me. They literally are the same exact product I see 0 difference in any aspect of the product between the two besides it actually being darker. With the darker one I apply 1 coat and I'm good the original took about 2-3ish coats. You can always build on it either right after ur first application or the next day it still looks great! It has the most undetectable scent it's like a mix of coconut and vanilla but I have to put my arm to my nose to get a good smell in lol. The color is incredible I feel like it's tailored to my exact skin tone because I look the way I do after I've spent a week at the beach (without the sunburn) AND my teeth look SOOO white. After my first application I went downstairs without telling my mom that I tried out my new holy grail (we are beauty fanatics and bffs) I came outside and she sat up and said HOLY CRAP YOUR SKIN IS GLOWING IT LOOKS AMAZING AND YOUR TEETH...YOUR TEETH THEY LOOK AMAZING. Two minutes later it was on her and 5 minutes later she bought it lol. Seriously amazing. Oh and the mitt is also incredible. I've never had such an easy application and I don't have to worry about my hands looking rediculous. Like seriously why is there even any other tanning products out there? They should all be put to shame after seeing how this thing works... I honestly feel like it's a steal the price is unbeatable. TIP: Im not too sure what the gloves are for so they could be for this purpose but I will say it anyway. When I opened the box I literally threw the gloves to the side and didn't give it a second thought. AFter the first application I wasn't so quick to throw them out...the mitt moves around during application ..a lot. It's a little annoying bc you have to go quick or else it will dry and be hard to blend. So the gloves create a nice friction that keep the mitt on pretty much completely throughout the process and it solved my problem If I were to really try to find a con the only possible thing that I could say is that the bottle could use a little updating. I'm not sure what is happening but it does leak on me and the spritzer could definetly be upgraded bc although the application process is simple and easy it is messy and if I applied it anywhere but my shower I wouldn't have been able to write this review bc I would be dead due to the amount of stains this would put in my house. So DO IT IN THE SHOWER OR U WILL REGRET IT. But I do believe that is a bottle issue it just doesn't always work out that great and it gets everywhere But all in all that doesn't even phase me bc I seriously am head over heals for this product. WFT!!!! AWEFUL!!! AWEFUL!!!!! AWEFUL!!!!!! NEVER WILL I BUY!!! Selltes in pores and next day looks like you have black dots all over you from it settling in porse...not my first time using tanners and been wanting to try this out since I've tried out some of Fake Bakes produces and not had this issue but when trying the flawless darker version, it was nothing but a hot mess and left me orangey. I was different shades on different parts of my body. Parts of me came out dark orange than the rest of my body..my legs turned out a lot darker orange than the rest of me..it didn't even effect my chest area which stayed about the same as my natural color and started coming off in just a couple days... besides the dark dots that settle into pores that I was left with for over a week even after exfoliating daily. It is blotchy on and made me look like I have a skin disease I have a natural tan to my skin as it is and most of the time self tanners come out nicely against my natural tan.After 4 years of pushing myself to us this stuff it was a great disaster I was scared to try it out so I gave it a while to build up reviews and a lot of people was happy about it so I said "hey let's give it a go" since this year I was gonna do nothing but fake baking for a more healthier solution than me going to a tanning bed every other day. I've been using both self tanners and tanning bed lotions for almost 20 years now so i have a good idea how to use them and whether it's a fake or old. Never had this happen before...maybe that is why I felt sceptical about this flawless darker self tanner...I just had that feeling that this was too good to be true. The color looks fake no matter how I apply it or how much I use or if I exfoliate a lot or not. I've tried different methods to putting this stuff on and still ends up looking the same...AWFUL!!!!! Guess what? After this I'm going back to the tanning bed. At least I'll look like I was at the beach and not rolling around in a bag of dirty cheetos. Just imagine a mixture of cheetos and dirt blended together and then you hop right into that. It's not gonna look good. Very unnatural color.

Very streaky. Does not go on even & stains everything.

I have used every tanning product under the sun in an attempt to find an easy, fast, and preferably cheap way to get a super dark, natural looking tan (I'm an ex tanning bed addict). Before this product came out, I had settled between two tanners that were great in their own ways; The original Fake Bake Flawless spray and St. Moriz Dark Tanning Mousse. Fake Bake was generally lighter, but looked like a natural tan (no orangey color), went on super flawlessly, could easily be layered (or applied by someone tired and lazy :) ), and dried insanely fast. St. Moriz was waaay dark and although it took a while to dry, was occasionally worth the extra work for the darkness (with the drawback that it could easily be streaked with any sort of moisture). This tanning spray is like a combination of the two with all the pros and none of the cons! It goes on super easy, is super dark and natural, can be layered, if used two days in a row it stays super dark after showering, and dries crazy fast! It comes with a tanning mitt and disposable latex gloves to protect your hands from getting stained. First, clip the straw that dips into the solution so that it is the same length as the bottle (this way it will not bend at the bottom and will use all of the solution in the bottle). Screw on the spray lid. Spray about five sprays of the tanner onto the mitt and rub into an area of skin (upper arm, lower arm, etc. taking one area at a time). It spreads easily and immediately adds a lot of color to skin, almost like a lip stain lipstick only in tan color for skin. It takes me 5 minutes to do my entire body and then I rinse the mitt, sometimes with hand soap, sometimes just with water, squeeze it to dry it and brush the velvet in the smooth direction so it dries to a soft surface. By the time I'm done rinsing it (maybe takes a minute), my tan is dry enough that I can get dressed. It will come off a little with moisture (like if water splashes up on you while rinsing the mitt), but is not at all a dramatic splotch like St. Moriz tanner. It also seems to come off a little bit onto clothes/sheets before showering, but not unless you are sweaty, because it dries so well. Literally the only draw back to this was that as it wore off of my skin (started after about three days of not reapplying), it looked very splotchy and you could obviously tell I had fake tanner wearing off. I think in a way this is a good thing, because it shows how dark it gets compared to my skin (which is a medium tone to begin with). Other tanners I use fade each day and this one just seemed to wear off as my skin naturally exfoliated off, so- patchy looking. Hope that makes sense. Overall- I don't see myself buying another tanning product unless someone has real rave reviews about something else being insanely dark. I get as dark as someone who regularly tans in beds after two consecutive days of use of this, and even after just one day I look very nicely tan. The convenience is the cherry on top of a super dark fake tanner. The mitt alone costs around $6 at Ulta, so the tanner itself is a great deal and lasts forever!! I highly recommend giving this a shot to anyone who wants a super dark, easy, fool proof tan!

This is the first time I have used any of the Fake Bake products and I like it, overall. It has a wonderful, tropical, coconut scent with no trace of "fake tan smell," and it doesn't leave any residual "fake tan smell" after showering off the initial application. The application is very easy (you spray product on the tanning mitt and rub on in circular motions). It does have a mild color guard, and starts working within a couple minutes of application. It dries quickly and has not left residue on my clothes or bedsheets (with the exception of slightly leaving a small amount of color on a pair of khaki shorts I wore while the color was developing). I feel like it provides a realistic color that is not orangey at all (although I would describe it as having reddish undertones as opposed to green undertones-which is how my skin naturally tans anyway). I only have two issues with this product: color payoff and longevity. I really expected the color payoff to be darker. One application leaves me sunkissed, two back-to-back applications leave me tan looking, but not to the extent that I was expecting. The color also hasn't lasted very long (and yes, I do all the suggested prep work before using). After the guard is washed off, the color is noticeably subtler, and after showering daily for a couple days, I feel like I need to reapply already. It does fade evenly and naturally, however. Since I have only purchased from Amazon, I have nothing to compare it to, but am now wondering if my Amazon purchase was the real deal, or knockoff...? The box it came in was a little worn looking, which also made be a little suspicious. In summary, I would repurchase for the price, and will repurchase again to see how a second bottle compares to the first, but in the mean time, will still keep searching for the perfect self tanner that doesn't cost a fortune.

It tanned you really good, but I thought it was a pain to put on. The mitt kept sliding around my hand.

I was an avid sunbed user up until a few months ago.. As we all know - finding that perfect tan without UV rays is easier said then done.. I've been experimenting with fake tans ever since from lotions, foams, mousses and sprays etc and my top three are the ones which helped me quit the beds for good (trust me, it took a lot for me to stop that addiction)... This tan is absolutely amazing and personally comes up top for self tanning 'sprays/liquid'... Its alot like - 'Loving Tan' as far as colour goes (which I had imported from Aus around two months ago).. I thought it was the 'best' in my eyes, but the price to get it shipped inc custom fees was ridiculous, so on my mission I went to look for the next best thing.. Fake Bake Flawless Darker - you my friend, have won me over hands down!.. 👌 Its a very dark liquid so you need to be careful when using it, but I found it easy enough to apply from using dark tans previously.. I love the dark colour guide as it ensures a good even coverage. It smells devine! Best tan smell EVER and its super easy to work with.. (Loving Tan is hard to apply as you have to work with it extremely quickly before it dries).. This liquid gives you enough time to cover yourself evenly and your completely dry within 10 minutes, so getting dressed is not a problem. This also doesn't feel sticky or tacky on so you can let your tan set in without feeling like a zombie for the next few hours.. This tan gives you an instant colour and developes overnight.. I look an olive brown colour after just one application (no orange in sight).. Hands, feet and face are spotless and the tan overall is - Flawless.. I'm absolutely chuffed I found this, I'll never look at another one again!..

Je recherchais depuis un moment un bon autobronzant ne laissant ni traces ni odeur chimique et ce produit remplit parfaitement ces deux conditions. Je l'applique le soir avant d'aller me coucher, sèche très rapidement. Le matin j'enlève l'excédent de produit sous la douche et c'est parfait! Aucune traces et laisse un beau bronzage naturel. Le +: une agréable odeur de coco. Pensez à bien utiliser les gants fournis.

Lo uso da anni, è davvero valido. Il colore è molto naturale e non scompare a macchie. Preferisco applicarlo a mano con i guanti piuttosto che con il guanto in dotazione, però ogni pelle è diversa ed è necessario trovare la routine adatta al proprio tipo.

I've been using self-tanners for years and tried many brands. I usually love lotions because I have dry skin, however each time I switch to a different tanner I am disappointed and always end up going back to this brand- more specifically, the flawless darker fake bake spray. The colour is gorgeous and it is the ONLY self-tanner I have tried that fades EVENLY. Other tanners I need to exfoliate regularly but with this one I can keep applying and get no patches at all. The only downfall to this tanner is that its extremely messy (which is why I'm always going back to try other tanners). Using this tanner will have you wiping your bathroom floor after. Maybe I should try the lotion version? haha.

I've been a fake tan user for years and I am also a qualified beauty therapist and in my opinion I can honestly say this is the best fake tan I have used. Fades evenly and doesn't give u that scaly fish skin that some tans leave when fading. Gives u a really deep colour. I use it with the dry oil by fake bake for elbows and knees so you don't get the rhino skin elbows that you sometimes get. Definitely worth the money. I haven't been asked to leave a review or anything like that so please be assured this is my personal review.
