Too tall, does not balance, no horizontal table angle
I bought this as I love the 'Table-Mate II' but this is not even close to the same quality. The metal pieces are of cheaper quality, the table does not stay balanced even on the floor (so forget the bed), there is no angle of the table that is completely horizontal and the inclined angles (which is marketed as 'adjustable') are too much to keep anything on the table. I am returning this item, thanks to Amazon Prime for saving my money on such junkie products.

Bed Mate Portable Table
I bought it because I read my e-readers, books, Manuals, in my easy chair. Because I have severe arthritis in my hands, I also use a portable folding bookstand on the table to hold my materials up at the right angle. The top is a good size. The bed mate is ok for my purpose. My gripes are the legs flip in and out before the locking buttons are popped out AND the locking bar that determines the angle of the table top don't clip securely in place during set-up. I am still trying to figure out how to make the set-up easier and more secure. The legs and the locking bar also flip out when I am folding the table to put it away. ALSO, there were no instructions included on how to set up the table. The weight of the table and the price are about right. It may even work well for a bed-ridden patient as shown on the front of the packing box.

Table warped after a few weeks.
Table warped/bowed on side that has the slide-out cup holder on both tables that I ordered; one table worse than other. Beverage glass slid down and almost off the table.

Don't believe the low rating - THIS LITTLE TABLE IS THE BEST!
THIS TABLE GETS A BAD RAP-- I have used this daily for 4 years and it is perfect to use a laptop while sitting in any chair. Very well made and it would be difficult to break it. Light weight and adjustable - plenty strong enough and stable. The complaints do not make sense and perhaps they are confusing it with the floor model. Absolutely the best to use a laptop in a recliner. When you want to get up just put it on the floor... it's a stable table.

Excellent save the legs are too tall unless you are an Amazon.
The lady in the pic must be 6'6" as the table came up to my chest when I use the same sitting position as in the advert above.(I am 6'0" in height) Otherwise, a very useful portable table for meals, laptop+mouse, etc.I have started to use it without the lower legs and just purchased some plugs at a hardware store so the bare metal from the upper metal legs(you see the joint in the picture above) does not rip the sofa fabric.

Not as it seems
Your torso has to be about 4 feet in order to have the table rest around your stomach so you can work or eat from the table. It doesn't adjust in height at all, so it's not user friendly.

Perfect for propping a tablet or book on......nothing more.
I bought this to have something to prop my Kindle or book on while in bed recovering from surgery. This was exactly what I was looking for and at a great price, and it worked well for that purpose. I do want to mention that if you are looking for a tray to rest food or drinks on, this is not super sturdy and I would not recommend using this tray for setting your food and drinks on. Otherwise a great purchase, and I'm using it at this very moment.
