De-Oiled Sunflower Lecithin Powder - 3 lb - Rich in Phosphatidyl Choline - Non-GMO Project Verified - Soy Free

First, I was pleasantly surprised that when I opened the cannister that the product was full to the top, unlike any other purchases of basically anything these day, they are half full. So you are getting what you pay for with this product. The smell and taste is nutty and is wonderful over greek yogurt with berries and honey in the morning. I mix it in really well and it is wonderful. I also put this in my smoothies and love it, it dissolves well and no grainy bits left on the bottom, it incorporates fully. I don't think that you will be disappointed with this product and it is made from sunflowers not soy.

Reasonable quantity for the price, and it's nice to get a de-oiled version (I have to watch my fat intake due to a health issue). As for why you might want this, it is very high in choline, part of the B vitamins complex, and very good for your brain. This mixes well in heath shakes with protein powder, etc. I also add some to indulgent chocolate shakes I make with cocoa powder, low-fat milk, and a mix of sugar-free sweeteners. It does not strongly affect the taste, and to the extent it's detectible, it's good and nutty anyway. Amazon itself is now peddling its own de-oiled sunflower lecithin powder (larger quantity for lower price), but who knows where that came from and under what conditions, or how long ago. Lekithos has a reputation for quality, and I've been using theirs for several years, so will probably stick with it.

My old phosphotidylcholine powder is out of stock everywhere so I tried this based on recommendation in the Q&A for the other product. I had high hopes because it is natural and more expensive but it does not work as well for my memory, which is important. Note that it works as well as some other cholines out there.

Tasty and lower fat than regular lecithin due to de-oiling, although not fat free. I add it to my morning oat bran hot cereal along with other powders, particularly pre-biotins, and it makes it smooth. Once I ran out of it and immediately noticed a big difference in the texture of my oat bran. A tip - mix all your powders in a small shaker, add water and shake really well, then add to your hot cereal. It will prevent your powders from clump. I like it better than soy lecithin - it has milder, more delicate taste.
