Grunden Men's Cargo

Grundens... exactly as expected.... nuff said
I work offshore in a really rough environment. I chew through offshore clothes working on barges and crew boats day in and day out. There IS only one name in foul weather gear that marine professionals rely on.... and that name is Grundens. This set of rain pants fits perfectly over my work clothes.... the length is right and the waist has a heavy flexible belt. The ankles zip open far enough to leave my work boots on with no problem.... and are sealed at the very bottom with a Velcro strap. This particular line of Grundens can be considered "midweight" not nearly as heavy as their rubberized Herkules line.... but heavier than their light line of foul weather gear. Perfect for my need working on barges.... probably not heavy enough for commercial fishermen.... who's standard is Herkules. Outdoor Equipped is a fantastic seller.... run by a Veteran who has EARNED my business.... and will continue to get my business in the future. Spot on sizing, product description, and shipping. Saved my butt with a shipment received earlier than expected for my 6 mile open-top crew boat ride in snotty New Hampshire weather. Thanks Outdoor Equipped and keep it up!!!!

Good Quality but run Long
I'm 5'8" 150lbs and typically wear a 32x30. I ordered mediums at first, the waist was great but they were ridiculously long. I exchanged them for smalls which are still a little long but will work. The waist on the small is a little snug but not too bad (although it might be a problem if I'm layered up). The construction and material seems to be great quality. The two front pockets are very shallow but the cargo pockets are roomy. All in all, they are very nice pants just wish the sizing fit me a little better.

Fabric is not as tough as they describe..
I purchased these for my son, who is a logger. The knee ripped out on the second day of him wearing them. We were unable to send them back due to a big drop in temperatures/heavy rains where we live, beings they were the only pants he had to keep him warm and dry. He was unable to wait to have them shipped back and wait for a for the arrival of a new pair. We had to spend more money on patches, instead. Extremely disappointed.

not 100% waterproofing
Coming from a southeast Alaska commercial fisherman (Gillnet), I gave this 3 stars. It is lightweight and packable, has useful pockets, and you feel rather light wearing this compared to the other option of heavy raingear. However, I have found that this rainwear is not completely waterproof. We have long openings in southeast and guaranteed after a few days of wearing these, you will be soaked. I guess a "breatheable" raingear is too much to wish for and you can expect water to find its way in. If you are fishing In bristol bay or someplace with shorter openers, this might fit your bill as I tend to stay dry for the first couple of hours of wearing unless it is really raining hard.

Took to Antarctica
Love these pants. Took them to Antarctica. They kept me completely dry in the Zodiak boats as we buzzed around icebergs. Also could sit in them in the snow to watch birds or drink in the views. They are light, washable, with velcro closures around the ankles.

Looks professional and is a lot more safe to wear around traffic
I really like these pants. I wear size 36" and the XL size fits great, with more room for even a 38" waist. I like the material, which is sort of loud when you're walking through the quiet house in the middle of the night. It's like a swoosh sound like windpants make. That doesn't take down my ranting of it though, they're great quality, have four pockets, the regular two hand-pockets has zippers; the two lower pockets buttons down. When I first bought them I thought the price was too high just for reflective pants, but these are more than that. They have a lot of detail to them which makes me feel a lot better now of how much they cost. I like that the butt area is black, just in case I sit on something or get that area dirty, it's not going to appear as dirty as the other bright areas. I really like the belt too. I did notice when I'm alongside of the highway assisting a customer, a lot more cars will get over now instead of flying right past me. I'm very satisfied.

Great functionality.
This is my fifth pair of these pants over the years. Totally waterproof, good pockets, good breathability. I've used rubber bibs, high-end Gill, Columbia, and Patagonia rain pants over the years. These outlast and outperform them all. Initially bought a pair at my local marine hardware store that serves the local commercial fishing industry. I wear them out in about a year but use them for lobstering, mechanical marine engine repair, woodcutting, and hiking.

Good Pants At A Good Price
Overall, very pleased with these pants and I would recommend them. Hand pockets could be a bit deeper but considering most rain pants don't even HAVE pockets, I'll be happy with these. Plus, there a two "cargo" pockets that easily stores my iPhone 7 and Google Pixel 2. Pants length are about 1 1/2 inches too long but you can velcro them for a tighter fit so they don't drag. Have not had an occasion to wear them in a storm/shower but they held up great in my 20 minute shower test. My clothing stayed dry underneath and pockets also stayed dry. These are not light-weight pants and, as such, you can feel a bit of heat building up. I am 5'10" and weigh 180 lbs. I have a 35" waist and wear 32" length. The pants come with a belt which is another ++ in my book.
