A GREAT stainless steel bottle, comparable to the gizmo
This bottle is great. It’s clean looking, less waste as the steel will last such a long time, and great to carry around, and my babe loves drinking from it. The steel barrel cup part Is not crazy thick but it insulates well and you don’t lose volume in the cup. The valve is very easy to come apart you don’t have to pull very hard at all and it all stays in place so you can’t lose it except for the straw piece if you don’t put it back right it will fall apart easily and it will leak. It’s more pieces than the gizmo plastic contigo bottle but it’s easier to remove (I’ve never had The Gizmo come apart in the cup). The spout piece is less wide than the gizmo (we’ve had the gizmo for over a year now and the spout has softened up but has not cracked or been bit through yet). The opening mechanic of the spout feels looser or less sturdy than the gizmo but easier to push the button and close the spout. Also the button is more prominent in the gizmo. The handle on the gizmo is all silicone which I love and my kid loves to chew on and if he trips with the bottle in hand it’s softer to land on, the chill has a plastic handle with silicone lining the inside of it, big enough to hold 2 adult fingers in it or 3 if you have smaller fingers. You definitely can’t interchange the lids and bottles one is wider than the other. The colored collar around the lid part is a strong textured silicone which is great to grip, the gizmo is just a colored plastic band. When the spout is open, it’s pretty deep and dark to clean around there but you can still reach a small bottle brush or a finger there, the gizmo is more shallow to clean. It’s not too heavy for a little one to carry when full, it might be when they’re tired or exerting themselves, heavier than the gizmo by a little. I will update on how well the stainless steel barrel holds up to dings etc, the plastic gets scratched up and gouged pretty easily and it makes it look old and grungy. Either way, there ARE differences between the 2 bottles but my LO loves both of them and he would love to take them both everywhere all the time.I love it

Best kid cup out there!!!
This is exactly what I've been looking for!! I have a three year old and we go to the park, pool, and are outside in the heat/sun a lot, and I was looking for a water bottle that would keep her ice water cold without sweating all over the place. This is it!! It DOES NOT leak or spill if tipped over, it's as easy to drink it of as a regular straw, and it comes apart (but not all the way to where you have to keep track of a million little pieces) and every piece is dishwasher safe. The button is easy to push, and it's easy to close, my kiddo has been using the non- insulated ones since she was 18 months old with no problem. It also fits in her car seat cup holder and doesn't have a metallic taste that I can tell. So yesterday we put it to a major test. It was 101 degrees here yesterday and I put ice water in it at 9am. We headed to the library, where it sat out in the smoldering hot car for an hour and fifteen minutes, then back home. Then back in the car to the sitters house for the remainder of the afternoon. There was still ICE in the cup at 4:45pm!! Finally at 6pm the ice had melted, but the water was still cold. Amazing!

Perfect for us
I bought this water bottle and the Thermos Foogo for my 18 month old. They have both been in use for about a month and I like them both, however this one slightly edges out the Foogo for a couple of reasons. 1- the spout doesn't seem to spill water as easily as the Foogo. With the Foogo he can hold it upside down and shake water out of the straw very easily and make puddles with. It isn't a defect of the bottle, it is because my son is too young and over time he will learn to use it properly and not make a mess. So far with the Contigo he has not made puddles. 2- I definitely prefer the Contigo because of the handle, as minute as that may seem, it is a big deal for me because I am constantly carrying lots of stuff when coming and going places and the Contigo hooks onto my finger easily. Plus my son can hold it with one hand because of the handle. He can easily open and close this water bottle as well as the Foogo. I am not worried about mold issues because we only give my son water, but if it were to have mold issues, it has nothing to do with the bottle itself, it has to do with proper cleaning and the type of liquids that are used in the bottle. We only hand wash our stainless steel water bottles and let them completely air dry. I like this bottle because it is not plastic and it serves its purpose. The handle is a bonus and if I were to order another one, it would be this one solely because of the handle. I guess one complaint with this water bottle that I just thought of was that the straw inside the bottle doesn't stay attached all the time, so occasionally I will notice he isn't getting water while sucking and I have to open the lid and push the straw back in. Minor issue, not a deal breaker. I like that the straw becomes detached for easy cleaning. There are always trade-offs. Overall I would recommend this water bottle.

... in plastic for my 1 year old and I love them truly leak proof and he loves drinking from ...
**** UPDATE!!! I still love these bottles but I had to throw out the lid and kept the stainless steal bottom to go with my other lids, I essentially used the two plastic bottles for water and the stainless steal bottle for milk to keep it cold. The two I used for water are still absolutely perfect the one I used for milk... MOLD!!.. built up underneath the plastic around the spout I even let my bottles soak for a good 15 mins in hot soapy water every single night since I've had them before scrubbing them. So buyers I'm not saying don't buy this bottle I love it! Just do NOT put anything other than water in them. I've included some photos in the third picture you will notice that it looks black under the spout as the first two photos are clear only the one with milk grow mold but even if your using them with just water watch out for the dark colour under the spout it should look clear if it doesn't throw it out! *****I have a couple of these bottles in plastic for my 1 year old and I love them truly leak proof and he loves drinking from them but this one I LOVE the insulated stainless steal keeps his milk cold for hours even in the hot car this one is just a milk cup for us but I may purchase one later on for water aswell, price is very high but it was worth it!!

Love this bottle! Steel bottle is always preferable for kids n this is indeed a very good quality one! The spout too is good n it is also spill proof! Highly recommend it! No scratches on it after multiple washes unlike plastic ones
