Lid does not perfectly fit, there is an air gap to let out heat....

First thing that is worth mentioning about this product is that it is heavy and sturdy. Earlier i got tea pit set from india circus brand and it was so fragile that the bottom of it got cracked in two weeks despite careful handling.I brought it to make small cups of infused herbal tea. It is sufficient for that. It will make one big cup of tea so keep that in mind. Totally satisfied. Can feel pricey if you get such products locally.
