Accurate and fun
I had one of these growing up as a kid. Hunted grouse, rabbits, and all kinds of pests around the yard. Not saying I'd recommend that being these shoot a tiny pellet at around half the speed of a .22LR, but I did. Now, I am 39 and bought one for my son. I put a budget Vortex scope on it and got it sighted in for him today. Shooting at an Amazon box and it was putting pellets in the same holes at about 10 yards. For the price, it is a great little gun. Perfect for kids who are a bit smaller built and would struggle pumping a non C02 gun. The light weight helps with that as well. I would recommend.

Working Great; 50ft Accuracy Satisfactory
First session went great. Shot about 150 rds and had only a couple of jams which were easily fixed by popping mag in and out. Second session was as though someone sabotaged it while it was in the closet. Trigger became nearly impossible to pull, the clip would hang up, the magazine would get stuck (had to use barrel release to free it), and half the pellets wouldn't punch out. Extremely frustrating. Began recalling all the negative reviews I read before buying. Called Crosman - they set me up for warranty repair. As i was about to pack it, I suddenly discovered the problem: operator error. There's a tiny slide/latch on the magazine to line up the clip. Had totally forgotten about it. I put in a new cylinder, loaded her up, set the guide latch, and every issue I mentioned was immediately solved. Worked great once again! I'm so embarrassed. As for all the bad reviews here for this gun, I can only wonder if I've avoided these problems by being very gentle and cautious when handling (well, except for the magazine latch). After all, it's priced well under $100 and made almost entirely of plastic - and it's a semi-automatic. Or maybe the gun's not old enough yet. We'll see. I have 5 mos left on the warranty. Guess I better shoot 1000 more rounds before then. In the meantime, I'm very pleased. Crosman 10.5 domes, Crosman 7.5 HPs and Gamo Hunter domes worked great, 1-to-1 1/2 inch groups at 30 ft and easily hitting 2- and 3-inch paddles at 50ft. Get a handful of clips - they're too cheap not to and multiplies the fun.

Gas escapes doesn't last 5 months!!
Over the last few years I have bought a number of these crossman air rifles. (Don't ask me why!!) While the concept of the product is good. The product quality and CO2 cartridge seal and small mesh filter are not reliable, or in my humble opinion not good value. So I decided to investigate some of the perceived qualty part issues with this rifle, given that the manufacturer continues to sell this product knowing it could break down within a year. The number one issue, is it continues to lose its CO2 gas due to a defective seal that the manufacturer continue to assemble in this rifle. Please see the parts in question in the pics above. Given this is my 5th crossman rifle I decided to disassemble the rifle I just purchased "again" as it would not seal, despite just receiving it to find out why it was releasing the gas before I return it. As you can see there are a number of components that are depicted in the pics. The main item seems to be the red CO2 powerlet gas cartridge seal that is supposed to seal the gas from escaping. This is the number one problem with all the crossman rifle products i have purchased thru Amazon.it does not seal allowing the gas to escape despite utilizing the cartridge lube oil before inserting. The oring seems to lose its sealing characteristics not allowing the cartridge to seal effectively. It seems to work for around 4 to 5 months then the gas tends to escape. This has happened to everyone of my rifle purchases despite my continued dialog with Amazon and the manufacturer. The seal seems to be made of the incorrect material allowing it to harden over time, therefore not allowing the cartridge to seal effectively and lose it memory!! As outlined earlier the rifle works effectively when it is not losing it's seal, but overall the product quality is poor for long time use. This will be my last purchase of this product. Sorry to go on, but buyer beware when purchasing this crossman product. At least Amazon does the right thing!!

Good beginner repeater with a lot of potential, but still flawed.
Bought on a whim, despite reading some of the negative reviews. They bring up some fair points, though. Out of the box, the first thing I noticed was the weight. There really isn't any. This is a very light pellet rifle, which is good and bad. The good is that it's very easy to transition from target to target and I can shoot this all day without effort. The bad is that as light as it is, it makes it challenging to keep on target while pulling the extremely long and rough trigger. The next thing I noticed out of the box was the rear sight was skewed at an angle. First I thought I could loosen the screws holding it to the barrel and put them straight, but then I noticed the aperture notch plate was at an angle. I used a pair of padded jaw pliers to bend it straight. An easy fix for me, but disappointing that it actually left the factory in this condition. Once the sight was fixed, I loaded a 12 gram Co2, Crosman Pointed 7.4 gr pellets, and took it for a spin. It took me one 12 shot clip to adjust the sights, then it was shooting 1 MOS (Minute of Squirrel) at my squirrel silhouette target at 20 yards. No chrono, but it was powerful enough with a new 12 gram Co2 and 7.4 gr pointed pellets to consistently knock the center plate of the silhouette down but not powerful enough to reliably reset the target. I had to use my .22 break barrel for that. The trigger pull is long and heavy. I didn't feel a lot of grittiness as others have mentioned, but it was not a smooth pull. Lubricating helped, but I think a teardown and buffing/smoothing of the contact surfaces will help. The 11mm rail is part of the plastic receiver. Not sure how well it will hold up with scope mounts. I may just get a reflex sight for it. I think that would be better suited for this rifle. Sling mounts would be nice for field trips. Might look at a way to install some. A nice addition to the magazine body would be a hatch to access the hollow space inside to store extra clips or pellets. Seems like a waste to not have that kind of storage there. I also wish Crosman sold the magazine body separately. Having extra 12 shot round clips is nice, but they can be a pain to keep track of and put in and take out. For $70, overall, I'm happy with this purchase and would recommend to friends and family. This is good for plinking and general fun shooting, but I would not use this for pest control. I don't think this rifle has enough power or accuracy to humanely dispatch pests.

the best plinker
This was my second air rifle, but my first semi auto one. i owned a crosman c31but thats a pistol (i do recommend it though) anyway, this is a great pellet gun if you're plinking cans off a fencepost or something, it is also very accurate until the co2 gets low after that it just seems...tooo.....ssssslllllooooww[...] i had a lot of fun with this rifle and i still do. the co2 cartridge is powerful for about 80 shots before the pellets start dropping. after just keep pulling the trigger till its empty. I bought a 4x32 scope which i preordered and a bipod that clamps to the barrel. i also bought speed loaders for it. with all of this i can get a 2 inch grouping with about 50 shots in under a minute. the range for this gun is pretty good and the power is amazing. i shot a shook up soda can with it and the thing blew up. I've had this gun over half a year and never once have i had a problem with it. pros: lightweight, durable, powerful, fast, accurate, comfortable to hold. cons: heavy trigger pull. the only problem i have with it is the trigger pull. its a bit rough and takes a couple pounds to pull it. overall this an amazing product that i recommend you buy, definitely good to get a scope for it, and buy pellgunoil, it makes it easy to maintain.

Misaligned site
I’ve had this same rifle before and was very pleased with it. This time the site isn’t aligned properly. I waste a lot of pellets trying to hit my target. I’m not satisfied this time. I had it for a bit before using it, so it was too late to return it.

Difficult directions
Skimpy directions. Still don’t have my rifle in operation! I could / should rate this item on the low end of the scale. Operation instructions are negative!

Fun little plinker
This airgun is great for plinking cans, paper targets, spinners, and other assorted small targets. It fires 12 shots as fast as you can pull the trigger. I was really surprised to find just how efficiently it used the CO2 as well. After about 5 magazines full of pellets it had expended its CO2 supply, and I removed the old tank to find that there was almost no hiss upon taking it out as the gun had managed to use almost all of the available CO2 with very little wasted. Reloading is fast, and the gun its self is fairly accurate. The stock is light but not too light. It feels more like the polymer used in a real firearm rather than just plastic you'd find on a toy. The gun is reliable, and due to its long history and ongoing support from Crossman is easy to find replacement parts for should anything go wrong, or upgrade parts for if you want to make some improvements. I really can't say anything negative about this gun. The price, the functionality, and the reliability are all top notch. It has stolen first place among my favorite airguns now.
