Its Great
They say its metal, and its metal. It feels heavier than aluminum and I think its steel because you arent afraid to torque a screw (within reason) or remove and place it somewhere else. Fits in a laptop, and specialized tray for my case. I would say if anything this is more of a tiny bit tight. It is what you hope it is.It has mounting holes everywhere. The circuit board is held in solidly and the connectors work fine. You are getting your moneys worth for sure. I like it enough to have taken pictures. One thing, Terminology of these drives is tricky. This is an NGFF device. Next generation form factor. The two main types are SATA and NVMe. One runs on the older sata bus like current platter drives do.The other newer is NVMe. its faster and runs on the fast PCI express bus. These two have a different interface. Most of the time you need an add-in board connected to your motherboard for NVMe if it doesn't have the correct interface on the board when you bought it.If you are using the same wires as the thing you are replacing it almost assuredly is SATA. This is for SATA.

Perfect for adapting an m2 sata ssd to a sata port inside a laptop
Not much to say, other than it did the trick. The chassis really is all metal and has a heft and quality you rarely find in aftermarket parts nowadays. It came with plenty of caddy screws but only one screw to latch the m2 drive's tail to the frame (so don't lose it). It also came with its own little philips precision driver, which was unnecessary but a nice touch. Someone said they are not getting SATA III throughput through its controller. I will test that and report back soon. It's definitely SATA III. Here are tests of my Samsung 850 EVO m.2 250G drive.hdparm for read test:Timing cached reads: 15158 MB in 1.99 seconds = 7604.33 MB/secTiming buffered disk reads: 820 MB in 3.01 seconds = 272.77 MB/secdd for write testing:1073741824 bytes (1.1 GB, 1.0 GiB) copied, 2.33463 s, 460 MB/s

Great adater,just doesn't work
I bought it to use my M.2 SSD as a second drive in a new Laptop, I checked and based on the specs I had the correct M.2, The adapter is well designed, sturdy, easy to install and would be perfect if it worked for me. I tried it in 3 computers and none recognized the M.2. ( disk Management or Device Manager) or in the Bios). I contacted seller, they never responded. Amazon's answer is to send it back, Hope you have better luck that I did.

The connector only has a B key, but it still works for B + M. Very confusing!
As you can tell by the image of the box, the label indicates it is for a B & M SSD connector. The actual connector only has a key for B. On the card itself, you can see that it says "B Key." When I plugged it in, though, it actually worked. I mounted the drive, created a GPT partition table, created a partition, and wrote to it just fine. I actually started a return with Amazon, because I thought it wouldn't work (this is the second brand that has said it was B+M and turned out to only be B keyed), so I cancelled the return and plan to keep it. It is very confusing, though. I'll have to put a label on it so I know it is for B+M at a later date when I have forgotten all of this.Maybe the factory ran out of B+M keyed connectors to solder onto the card and decided to just use the ones they could get their hands on. They should probably mention this in the item's description.

This is the adapter to buy!!!
This adapter will give you better performance than the sabrent adapter hands down! This adapter looks to be made of better materials and looks to give a direct Sata to Sata connection. The sabrent has some clock chip on the board which makes me wonder if that’s what’s slowing it down. Also other manufacturers have step down regulators blow up and take out the drive in the process. This one has great reviews and the Chinese company that manufactures this also makes VERY good products. Every item from this electronic district in China has always impressed me in terms of quality and robustness. This item is used in a plex server. I need the performance to be 1:1 and reliability as it stays on 24/7. Don’t use sabrent! I was nervous about it while away from home. Now I don’t worry.
