I simply couldn't rationalize the cost of the name brand, heavily marketed, die-cutting machines so I told myself I did not need one and would not buy one. Of course, a large percentage of the online card-making videos use embossing or die-cutting in some way, so my resolve was sorely tested! I'd purchased a Bira stamping platform when I wanted one (also after a battle of want vs. need!) and also found the prices of the name brand ones ridiculous and I was pleased with the function and quality. So, when I saw that there was a die-cutting machine from Bira, and the price seemed reasonable, I ordered it. I'm happy to have it and have been successful cutting and embossing with any brand dies and folders. I actually think the Bira is better with its adjustable pressure than the brands that have to be shimmed. So, if you don't care about the name printed on the machine and just want to get the job done, I would definitely recommend the Bira.

I am more than happy with my new Bira . It came quickly, is nice looking and easy to use.It is just a bit larger and heavier than my old Cuttlebug. I love the adjustability feature and the fact you only need 2 plates. I did buy the magnetic plate and the silicone pad but they aren’t necessary to be successful. I believe it is the same machine being sold by Close to My Heart and Gina K only with their names on it and pricier. Just get the Bira!

This machine was a little different from my name brand machines but works similarly. It cut the dies sufficiently.

My wife likes the Bira Craft 6" Die, Cutting and Embossing Machine Starter Kit very much. She especially likes its sturdy “feet” when opened so it stays put when embossing or cutting. It is lightweight and easy to use with the adjustable dials. The only confusing part is that the accompanying directions show the various plates being put through the machine upside down; she had to go to the short Bira Craft youtube video to learn the correct way to insert them. Other than that, as a beginner card maker, she is very happy with this machine and made all our Christmas cards with it! Thank you.

I love it. I have spellbinders, sixxiz machines of various models. I was intrigued by the adjustable pressure.I can say I am more than pleased. I have a number of very intricate dies that I had just given up on. Tried cutting this way, that way, run thru multiple times, add shims, etc without success. Decided to try them and to my surprise, one time thru with success. Can't say enough about this machine. I almost didn't buy because I certainly did not need another die cut machine but so glad I did decide to purchase it.

Went thru 2 of a competive die cut machine Sizzix and broke twice. Bira bira is way better and adjustable for different sizes.

This isn’t a big brand name but IMHO it does way more! All the other machines need shims (pieces of cardboard or plastic or paper) to make them the right thickness but all you need to do on this is turn a couple of dials. I’ve used it for both die cutting and embossing plates and it works great. I also just tried it with the GoPress and Foil today and it worked great with it too. I ran it through slowly a few times so that may have helped.

I hate the handle it comes out very easily when you’re using it, it is frustrating!
