Now 5 star! - Updated
I loved this pen the second I started drawing with it. Fantastic weight to it, looks good and the ink flow is fantastic. Very smooth when using. However after roughly 3/4 days the lid no longer fully clicks and sits in place like it did. So I am finding when I go for the pen the lid is often off or loose, which is no good with a fountain pen. Thankfully no ink incidents yet.Hopefully mine is a one off issue because everything about this pen makes it amazing and I would rate it 5 stars if not for this issue###Update to above; the lid is loose because the lining on the inside of the lid itself is cracked! I couldn't see it at first until there was ink in the pen which helped to show up the fault. Check yours if you buy one ###The seller was fantastic in sorting this out for me, they replied quickly and helped me out with the issue. I have therefore increased this review to 5 stars as the pen is very very good.

My favourite pen I've ever bought; so inexpensive for what you get, just buy 2!
I'm in LOVE with this Duke Charlie Chaplin edition bent iridium nib fountain pen! Its heavy body, chunky head and smooth action is utterly divine- You hand just glides along the page with it, which means ANYONE from beginner to advanced fountain pen 'enthusiasts' can use it. Don't be afraid of the bent nib- it is so smooth on the paper and not 'scratchy' like some nibs. I own some of the best pens available and this is a game changer for me. I accompanied it with J Herbin's encre violette pensée violet ink from the website 'cult pens' and it's JUST magical! I cannot believe this is only £20. I would pay triple for it, and it arrived on time and in a beautiful black pouch. It uses an ink converter, which if you've not used before you dip into your preferred ink and twist the top to 'suck' the ink up (there's a tiny spiral stopper inside the converter which, if you're new to this system may make you feel like it's broken somehow, but noooo, it's supposed to be there slipping around in the ink shoot, I know it freaked me out once so thought I'd put this in! Make sure you dip it allll the way in to grab the ink from your ink pot and you may have to twist a couple of times to pull the ink, but so much better than cartridges and better for the world in terms of plastic waste- LOVE THE CONVERTER, STROKE IT, NAME IT BERNIE IF IT HELPS, BUT STICK WITH IT 😂) Pen enthusiasts, beginners and calligraphers, just BUY it :)

Great little work pen
A wonderful pen to hold and draw with . The pen moves easily with no scratching . Easy to draw from thin to thicker lines. Good weight in this pen which I like, and if you leave to lid off it’s lighter if course. Lovely wide barrel so is nice to hold and very comfortable . I would highly recommend this pen. It’s a really visually beautiful pen as well as being easy to use and good nub for drawing .

Great, sturdy pen with interesting line variance.
I liked this so much that I bought another one as a gift for my mum! I have the black one and got her a purple one - which is a fantastic hue and very attractive. So much so that I want a purple one for myself now too!I like a heavy pen, which is good as this is a beast. Solidly built, nice in the hand, very smooth writer with a good flow even when angled up to create thinner lines. I have been using it with Rohrer and Klinger sketching ink for architectural watercolours and the line versatility the fude nib affords gives great variance and interest to the piece. My only slight gripe would be that the ink converter does not pick up very well and takes several attempts, even with the nib fully submerged before it will collect properly. Perhaps I got a bad one but I suspect the seals are a tad weak or warped.Overall I am very happy with the pens and may look to buy the Duke Confucius at some point.

Heavy
Be aware that this is a very heavy pen, and not to everyone's taste. I chose the blue version. On the website it looked like a lustrous blue metallic colour, sadly on arrival it turned out to be a rather uninspiring, flat, dull blue. Although the ink flows nicely, the fine nib is slightly scratchy and thick for being a 'fine' nib. It looks more like a medium. I won't return it, since it was fairly cheap, but be aware.

Unique pen
The pen has character: it is heavier than many fountain pens and has a distinctive design.

Beautiful Big Beast of a Pen
Solid and heavy pen in lacquered brass but elegant and comfortable design. I've never used a Fude nib before but it is very responsive and gives a variety of widths depending on the angle of use. The build quality is amazing for the price. If you like drawing with ink I think you'll love it but its chunkiness and weight won't suit everyone

Purple Duke: The Ink Quest
I love these pens and have three now. This purple one is gorgeous, though the fude nib is not a favourite as it needs some work to get line variation, unlike, say, an Online or Pilot. Fortunately, l only had to swap the bottom section to change to a fine nib. Now it's my 'go to' pen. Really should call it quits, but the dark blue version keeps winking at me. I suppose there are worse addictions. So I bought the blue one and it looks as good as I'd hoped. The nib was wider and the flow more effusive than I would have liked. Shame there's no extra fine version, but using the back of the nib substitutes. It's a beautiful design, but the performance isn't consistent one pen to the next. Having said that, I'm glad there isn't another colour as I'd probably take another chance. Enjoy!

Splendide
Magnifique.
