Poor Value for Money
This is a nice little article on the apple, its origins, uses and cultivation. I enjoyed it and learned quite a bit.But this work is much to short to justify its price. It is fluffed out with photos that are not very useful of a black-and-white Kindle. Then there is a list of the different varieties of apples and further padding is provided by a list of recipes. This might be acceptable at half the price. All in all, you would do better with the Wikipedia article.

Short and sweet book about apples
This little book contains a treasure trove of interesting information about apples--where they originated, how they spread around the world, where they pop up in fables/stories, as well as practical advice about how to select tasty apples and cook them. At 130 pages, this is a fast, fun read. It's also well illustrated with photos and other apple-centric art and images. A fantastic book!

Interesting
As a grandchild of apple orchard people, I found a lot of the info in here interesting. Turns out there might be a reason to go see Afghanistan if you love apples and history.
