Hello. This one will not fit. This is for the 85-93 Dodge front axle. You need PSL900 for 3" & smaller lifts or the PSL920 for 3" & larger lifts.

I am sorry that I can not answer your question specific to your 2001 Dodge Ram. I will tell you this…I installed this kit on a 1986 Dodge Ramcharger front axle. It is used for a replacement kit as opposed to the factory option vacuum assist engagement mechanism! It has nothing to do with a “posi-trac” differential if that is what your intended question in fact was! If your 2001 Dodge Ram is having difficulty engaging the front axle you could have a faulty engager….whether it is an electric motor shift type or a vacuum operated shift type! I am sure there is a kit should this be what you require, however I am not positive if this particular one will fit 2001 Dodge Ram. If you can find the specs. I am certain it will relate to a kit for your truck! Hope this helped!
