My four year old is still ‘getting to grips’ with the cutting action, we’ve had the classic plastic scissors that don’t actually cut anything and one other pair of metal bladed safety scissors without the spring-loaded feature. Whilst the spring-loaded element looks a little flimsy, it’s easy for my 4 y/o to use, helps them cut easily and has surprisingly stood up to the test of multiple Christmas crafts over the past few weeks! They cut paper very well, thought they do find thicker materials tricky (I suspect that’s to help keep them dull enough to be safe for little and clumsy fingers). They seem to be the perfect size for smaller hands, even I and my husband have been able to use them occasionally. Rounded ends help keep little fingers safe, we obviously supervise when in use, but it either a ‘speed cutting’ four y/o it’s reassuring to know the blades are not sharp enough to cause serious damage. Child seems encouraged to use scissors and their skills have improved significantly over the past few weeks. Handy having a pack of 3 in case any break. Would definitely buy again.

Ordered for kids at nursery school. Well made, spring loaded helps those that need the help and you can fold that away if not needed. Nice and sharp and not too stiff. Highly recommend.

replacing the plastic scissors I got my son because they didn’t cut properly, I got these. These cut so much better. Comfortable to hold and easy to cut with. The latch attached to it helps the little one because it pops the scissors open again. I like the fact they come different colours and have name tags. I wrote my sons name on one of them, and his cousins names of the other. Now he will not mind sharing them. Otherwise, they would have been all his and refuse to share.

We bought these so we could introduce some cutting with our nearly two year old. She's taken to them brilliantly; they fit her hands really well, the blades actually cut the paper and the spring loaded element is great while she learns the action of cutting (obviously this is all done with very close supervision). The fact that you can opt to use or not use the spring loaded element means these scissors should last for ages. Perfect as a first pair of scissors.

My 5 year old son had been asking for a proper pair of scissors for a while as his plastic ones weren’t great at all. Purchased these after they were recommended to me as a little stocking filler and they’re great. Easy to hold & the fact that they’re spring loaded makes them easier to use. Highly recommend!

I'm glad there were x3 pairs in this pack, one arrived broken and unusable, however my 3yr old was very eager to begin to use them after opening so I decided to keep them rather than return. The two pairs that weren't broken have been great, I'm not sure how long they will last but in the past two days he has gone from struggling to cut to almost instantly able to cut correctly.

My 2½ year old really wanted to join in cutting paper with his brothers but wasn't quite getting the open shut motion of a normal pair of scissors and then I come by these and they are perfect they have given him the independence he wanted and he finds them very easy to use.
