HappyLight Luxe

I think people have some high expectations for this product to fix all of their problems. It’s not a miracle cure for depression, it takes the edge off. I live in the PNW, where it’s cloudy 90% of the year. Winter is the worst when it gets dark at 4:30. I felt the shift after daylight savings. More tired in the morning, difficulty getting moving, not keeping up on fitness, eating more junk, tired mid afternoon, and sleep schedule jacked up. I did feel an immediate shift when I started using it. It could’ve been excitement to try something or placebo effect, but I would turn it on as soon as I woke up. Sit in front of it for 20-30 minutes while I woke up reading or doomscrolling. I was back to listening to music while I got ready, felt more motivated at work, stopped skipping (as many) workouts, and though the afternoon slump is still there, I’m not I’m not falling asleep at my desk. Like I said, not a miracle fix. But it helps. It does have a bit of a cheap feel, but not too bad. It stays upright, light settings are nice and bright. If you start on the lower end while you adjust, extend the time you spend in front of it. I still haven’t gotten to the brightest setting. It’s hard to first thing in the morning. They recommend not to use it in the afternoon because it can keep you awake, but I will occasionally do it for 10 minutes to give myself a little boost so I’m not falling asleep at 6pm.

It’s a great light. It has multiple brightness settings and a timer in 5 minute increments. I like the size I got also. About 8x10. Works great, Areived in time as described. Would definitely buy again from this seller.

I've been using a SAD light for most dark seasons for the past decade+. This year, I treated myself to an upgraded verilux HappyLight. The difference between my original verilux HL and this new one is...wait for it...like night and day (HAHAHAHA!!!!!) My old verilux is a monster. It's approx 10" x 14" and 2" deep, with a fluorescent tube in it and no light frequency or light intensity adjustment. It was quite spendy, too (~$100, also on Amazon). However, it was also the least affordable option that would put out a sufficient intensity of light to be therapeutic. So, it worked great from a therapeutic perspective, but was also big and clunky. Fast forward to 2023 and post-space Bezos. This new verilux addresses all of the old light's shortcomings and then some. First, it's much smaller and sleeker than the old light, about the same dimensions as a large tablet - I think it's got an LED light inside - while still pumping out therapeutic amounts of light. This makes it much, much easier to set up and put away each morning. I also appreciate the fact that the frequency and intensity of the light can be adjusted. With the old light, I always spent the first week or so of the dark season heeling like my retinas and brain were getting a little toasted. I used to think that that was just part of getting used to the light again. With this new one, I was able to start with a lower intensity for the first few days and gradually build up to full strength brightness. I started with the whitest light freq with no problems, but could see how starting with a less-white freq would also help with dialing the treatment in gradually over a few days. My one - SUPER MINOR - critique is with the timer. I do love the fact that it has a timer. However, I think the timer settings are limited: No timer, 5 min, 10 min, 15 min, 60 min. I would like the product even more if there were more increments between 15 min and 60 min. Also, this new light was much less cheaper (~$65, also on Amazon) than the original one.

The light itself is very well made and looks nice. It’s easy to use, lightweight, and the brightness settings are convenient. I’ve only been using it for a short time, so I’m not sure yet if I notice a real effect on my mood or energy. I think it probably needs more time of consistent use to see results. Few color options, good size. Overall it seems like a good quality light therapy lamp, but I can’t fully judge the benefits yet.

I'm very happy (unavoidable pun) with my purchase of this Verilux HappyLight Luxe - Light Therapy Lamp. I especially appreciate all the variations of brightness and light-warmth along with timer. Very well designed. In order to move it to different areas of the house, I also paired it with this stand: BluuSuuk Tablet Floor Stand with Double Weight Base, Overhead Bed Phone Mount Height Adjustable Arm Stretchable Stand Holder, Compatible with iPad Mini Air Pro, Galaxy Tab, Kindle, Switch, Cell Phones. They work very well in tandem!

I recently purchased the Verilux Happy Light Luxe and have been extremely satisfied with its performance. My psychiatrist recommended this specific model to me as an adjunct part of my mental health treatment, and I can definitely see why. One of the most convenient features of the Happy Light Luxe is the power button on the top of the device, which is easily accessible and allows me to turn the light on and off with ease. Additionally, there are three buttons on the bottom of the device that allow me to easily set the time of each therapy session, the color temperature of the light, and the intensity of the light. This allows me to titrate the dose of light therapy to my specific needs and preferences, which I appreciate. I also appreciate the sleek and modern design of the Happy Light Luxe. It looks great on my desk and doesn't take up too much space. The light itself is very bright and provides a natural, full-spectrum light. I am beginning to notice an improvement in my energy levels and mood since using this light daily. One of the things that sets the Happy Light Luxe apart from other light therapy devices is its ability to set the color temperature. The Happy Light Luxe allows me to select the specific color temperature (warm, natural and cool) and intensity (five different levels) that is most beneficial for my needs at any given time. Another standout feature of the Happy Light Luxe is its built-in timer, which allows me to set the duration of my light therapy sessions. This is particularly useful for people like me who may have trouble remembering to turn the light off after a set period of time, or bailing too early on the session. It's bigger than I thought it would be. This is a good thing, in my opinion. It looks and feels solid, sitting on my desk. I turned it sideways and leaned it against the base of my computer monitor at my work desk. It's directly under my monitor on which I read my work emails in the morning, so I figure i'm getting the most benefit from it there. It is insanely bright at the highest setting. Surface of the sun at noon, bright. Which it is supposed to be, so I feel good about it. I don't have a light meter, and I don't honestly care that much, so I haven't measured the output or anything. My eyes say it's insanely bright and that's good enough for me. It does have adjustable brightness, so I'll admit to using it on the lowest setting as a normal light source when the days are cloudy and little natural sunlight comes in through the window. It does the job well there, too. The light is pure white and clear and very comfortable for my eyes. It does have other light temperatures, but I don't like them so I don't use them. Your mileage may vary. Options are good. The timer is consistently accurate to the minute, which is fun. I set it for an hour in the morning, and it turns off when the hour is up. I think it's a rather attractive addition to my office setup. I like that it is a nice marbled colour instead of something stark white or plain black. It feels like a casual accent piece instead of anything institutional or cold. It takes up much less desk real estate than a traditional lamp, which is important in a small space. As far as mood alteration, I can't honestly tell if it's psychosomatic or if it's actually making a tangible physical difference to my mood. How does one measure that objectively, when one is struggling with depression in the first place? What I can say is that it *seems* to make a difference, and a rather significant one at that. It is chemical free and there are no side effects, so even if it is psychosomatic I'll take it. Does it fix everything and now the world is sunshine and butterflies and happy bunnies? No. It's a lamp. But it does seem to improve my outlook, and that's a huge step in the right direction.

I have had a very difficult time regulating my sleep - sometimes I sleep well, more often not, and I rarely get a full night's sleep. Using this wonderful light has definitely helped. I use it at the same time every morning, on the highest setting, and set the timer for 30 minutes. I keep it at a slight angle at a distance of about 18 inches from my eyes and wow, I am definitely falling asleep sooner and sleeping better. It's also very user friendly - the controls are simple, you can change the quality of the light if you dislike LED or prefer a warmer light, and you can gradually work your way up to the highest setting as there are four brightness settings. Definitely worth every penny.

Ich habe die Tageslichtlampe bestellt. Der dazugehrige Stecker ist einer Typ A, also für USA etc. Für D braucht es einen Adapter. Das hat mit der Qualität des Geräts nichts zu tun, ist aber ärgerlich, da im Angebot nicht darauf hingewiesen wird.

Should have read the reviews before ordering. Comes as 110V and requires an adapter to work in the UK. IMO this should be supplied or declared and not discovered when you have already purchased the product.

Verkeerde stekker, verkoper helpt niet. Ding doet het niet.

It was sent with a European plug not one that can be used in the UK. Used 4 different usb and the light will not turn on. These aren't cheap... No option to contact the seller so having to return the product.
