I’m 6’3 about 265 lbs and typically wear a size 38 in shorts and slacks. These shorts in size 38 fit perfectly. So they are true to size.Quality is better than any other board short I own (and I own 10+ pair including other pairs of O’Neill just not this style). These are most comfortable and softer to the touch. I haven’t been in the water with them yet but I will wear them with a pair of rash guard briefs underneath when in the ocean (with other brands I find this more comfortable, especially in the ocean, so I’ll continue the ritual with these as they are unlined). Durability is yet TBD.These shorts cost a bit more than other brands but they are well worth it 100% IMO. As long as they holdup during my next trip to Costa Rica to surf (which I highly expect they will) I will only be buying more of these going forward in assorted design/ colors.

I've owned O'Neil before, drifted from it for a while, that's was the mistake. I'm back. Back in contest shape and these shorts are great, good flex, perfect fit

Order size 30 and fit perfect for me. I like the material 👌, but one thing downside was no opening for you to go #1. It will be perfect if they put the front zipper ass well. That the reason why I only give 4 stars.

I spent over $200 on more than a half dozen other board shorts before finally trying these. I've included a picture of the 6 other pairs I wasn't able to return and couldn't bring myself to wear more than once in the water. There were a bunch more that I did return giving me a solid sampling of what's out there. These are the most expensive pair of board shorts around which is why I tried so many others first. I would have saved a lot of money if I had tried these first.Having a comfortable pair of board shorts that don't chafe or restrict movement means I don't have to wait for a rash to heal between surf sessions and since buying these shorts I'm surfing 6 days a week. If you don't need these for an active water sport then there are cheaper options out there. These might be the best board shorts ever made and having worn many, many pairs over the last 40 years, I know what I'm talking about.These shorts are so amazing that despite the high price tag, I've ordered a second pair in black so that I've always got a dry one. You won't find them on sale anywhere, I searched for a week, but if you use them regularly they are worth every penny. Look no further.

I own the O'Neill Hyperfreak Boardshort in a light green camo, a digital desert camo in addition to the black camo. As a US Navy Veteran, I would like to see it (with the flag patch) in a BLUE CAMO as well!I like the Elastine that allows for the stretchiness in the fabric. Also like the quick dry capablity and solid construction. I windsurf & sail my sunfish sailboat - always wearing my O'Neill board shorts - they fit comfortably & stay up so I don't have to free a hand to hike them up mid-activity. Been looking for a new pair of board shorts for a while and the price dropped on these dramatically so I jumped at the chance to buy them. Fit is perfect and the quality is superb. Nice to have a fresh pair of shorts for this hot summer…

The Hyperfreak board shorts themselves are the best pair of board shorts I have ever owned. That being said they were sent to me with 38" labels but were actually 40". Make sure you measure them. I paid $30 out of my own pocket to have them brought in. Annoyed that I paid $75 for a pair of shorts and they couldn't bother to send me the right size. Couldn't return because I already washed them and notice they were slipping off more than my original pair. Other than that material is fantastic, and breathable. Contacted seller, and was basically told sorry can't take them back. Weak. Good shorts, weak customer service.
