Worth the money!
This is a brilliant head torch. I'm a milkman, who does over 200 deliverys a night, 6 nights a week. In towns and out in the country, so this is an essential bit of kit for me to carry out my job safely in the dark, and it does it very well. After previously owning the LED lenser H7R.2 and being reasonably happy with it. The Petzl Actik Core blows it out of the water in nearly every department. On first inspection, i thought the shell was quite flimsy and light. But that didn't worry me to much after i saw how bright the light was. More so than the Lenser, plus it reaches a wider area. It enables me to see any potential obstacle infront of me. There are 3 light settings, and it is very simple to use, with no fancy gadgets. I found the Lenser quite clumpy and awkward with far to many different settings which you don't need.During the darker winter months, i need a torch that is comfortable and durable because i will need to wear it for 7 hours straight some nights. This is comfortable, and holds charge no problem (so long as it's not on the maximum setting all night!)It does a good job of keeping the rain out. Also you can put it in your rucksack, and not worry about it accidentally switching on.Charging is simple, it's USB. The strap can be easily adjusted also.It is very handy to use around the home as well.To sum up, i have had this 9 months and it's great. If you want a no frills headtorch, that is very bright and reliable. BUY THIS!

Nice and lightweight
I do like an off-road night-time run and have a couple of headlights. However they are big powerful lights with a powepack on the rear of the headband and an over the top strap. Comfortable and stable but for some occasions just too bulky, hence the Petzl. Single strap and battery built into the head is lighter, just as stable and at 400lumen plenty bright for the trail running I mostly do. In fact the medium setting is the most useful with a nice mid distance spread of light that also gives great battery run times. The lowest setting is really too low to run with ut ideal for close up use eg reading or in small spaces. The recharging is easy enough and I like the option to use disposable batteries. Many years ago I started with Energiser head lamps and would rate the highly but the quality of the Petzl light is much better, fewer artefacts or dim spots and given its relatively small form factor I pick this light unless going onto open terrain in the dark when the higher power and battery life of my bigger headlamps is safer. Trail running though and the Petzl is king. I did add a small red dot light (dead cheap from Decathlon) to the back of the strap for safety. Excellent light.

UPDATE REVIEW AFTER MORE LENGTHY USE -
Having now used this for many, many runs - on road, and off road - I cansay without reservation this is an excellent product. Holds charge well, andon the highest setting good enough for my woodland routes. Well worthspending a bit more for the extra oomph. No issues with use / quality / holding charge etc.I might be tempted to buy another - the thought has cross my mind that I couldput 2 on one head band - and that would throw up the possibility of using 1 onthe red setting (for road runs) pointing backwards ... And maybe, 2 facing moreor less forward* - and switching from one to the other, when the battery eventually fadeson 1 - switch to the other - and tug the headband around a wee bit to 're direct' the beam.* the length of one unit + another would probably limit the scope to have 2facing fully forward, but it's an idea I might play around with - and the potential forswitching between 1 and another, as battery power drains, is certainly viable.- which would open up my moorland runs to around 4 hours - a welcome trainingaddition in winter when the light fades early.Overall - highly recommended. Hope they come down in price, eventuallywhich would be the icing on the cake.==================================================================Original comments -Typical PETZL quality - nicely put together, and evidently well thought out.The body of the torch itself seems slightly less chunky than my old 20 quid Petzl headtorch - but I cannot say at this stage whether it is any less robust. {the plastic of the 'shell' seems slightly thinner}One thing I did notice quickly - the plastic packaging is quite strong, and took quite a lot of effort toget into - which is momentarily frustrating; but also good to see in the sense that it keeps yourpurchase safe in transit.Charged battery soon after it arrived, and have only briefly used it - just to assess the brightness very crudely -it does seem *very* bright - considerably brighter than my older, more basic version.Background/Context:I purchased for running / trail running - as at this time of year running in the dark cannot always be avoided, and some of my trail routes have no artificial light. <-- tried with my existing Petzl, and also a cheapo unbranded reasonably bright HT - fairly bright, but being cheap, quickly loses its ooomph. Pondered on getting something from the likes of Energiser (fine for some uses no doubt) but plumbed for getting something I knew would be good, and reliable, - predicting I'd end up buying Petzl if I went down the 'half measure' path.

VERY strong light.
I rarely rate anything 5 stars but this seems like a very good piece of gear. I suspect it will hold up over time but only time will have that answer. The price was great.Replacing a very old Black Diamond with this headlamp was a big upgrade. The control is easy to use and the light output is surprisingly strong. The tilt is easy to work and stays where you put it.I recently used it to repair some wiring under a trailer and literally forgot that I was wearing it at times. I was rolling around on a creeper with this on and it was great; much better than a flashlight for the work at hand.Low on this headlamp is almost as strong as high was on the B-D. "Medium" is more than adequate for working in dark areas and for walking at night. For walking, if it's a very dark night and other external light is are minimal, low is probably enough and red is an option if you really want to preserve your night vision.High is very powerful; very. The single head strap was different for me since the B-D also had a strap across the crown of the head but the single is comfortable and works well; it's easy to adjust too.I've yet to seriously challenge the battery life but so far the rechargeable seems quite good. You could always pocket three AAA's for backup.People who use headlamps a lot may have better choices or different opinions but, for the money, this seems like an excellent option for the casual user.

Great product
Love the different settings and how super bright this can get and how much area it can cover. Comfortable to wear

lampada frontale

A very good purchase.
I initially had the Petzl MYO RXP for over 8 years but due to a battery leak had to let it go. Doing my fair bit of research I narrowed on the ACTIK CORE 450 lumen. It comes with a rechargeable battery and that is a great initiative from Petzl. Petzl brightness never disappoints and the red light function is wonderful. I am yet to test its waterproof ratings but would not be disappointed. Worth the purchase.
