Leather Hard Case Cover for the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite By August Lion - BLUE

When I got this, it was not flat. Both the top and the bottom curved in slightly towards the middle, like something heavy had been sitting on it and bent it. Then, like a fool, I snapped my Kindle Paperwhite into the case because I was wondering if doing so would straighten out the case. It didn't, but I was then unable to get the Paperwhite out of the case without applying some serious pressure. Since the Paperwhite is now apparently locked into this case for all eternity, I guess I'm keeping the case. I did spend some time gently bending the front cover, and I've gotten it to where the top mostly lays flat along the surface of the Kindle, but it's not perfect.I do like the function where the Kindle turns off and on by closing and opening the cover.I agree with the other reviewers who say the color of the cover isn't the same as the photo. It's not turquoise. I would describe it more as a blue-green with gray undertones, so the effect is more like a seafoam color. It's not a bright, cheery color. However, because I can't get my Paperwhite out of the case, I'll never know if I could have found a Paperwhite case in a pretty turquoise color.

The main reason I bought this case was because of the name of the company, August Lion! I was born in August and am a Leo the lion! Then I found I love the color! I love the feel! The magnet tab holds the case closed. The case turns the Kindle Paperwhite on and off every time!! It's light enough not to add hardly any weight to the reader. It's well constructed. The only "problem" I have is the reader snaps in the case too tight. It fits VERY securely. Too secure! Once I snapped it in I couldn't get it out. Since I love the case that isn't a problem for now but if I ever decide to change cases I'm not sure how I'm going to get it out with out scratching the reader or possibly cracking the case. I'm sure I will find a way not to damage either. There must be a trick to popping it out but I haven't tried to get it out yet. But you will never have to worry about your reader falling out of the case. I haven't dropped it except on the carpet but the hard plastic case completely surrounds the back and sides of the reader. The magnetic tab kept the lid closed. Overall I am VERY pleased with this case. I highly recommend this product!!

My wife and I both have Kindles. I purchased the August Lion case (brown) several years ago, my wife had another brand. After about 3 years my wife's other brand wore out. Whereas my August Lion case looked as good as it did the day I purchased it. So I got her the same type of August Lion case.The case works as designed. It holds the Kindle firmly in place with the plastic corners, no straps. I have dropped my kindle numerous times with no damage too the kindle. The outer leather wears very well and still looks new. The color of the teal blue case purchased for my wife is exactly the same color as it shows on my laptop screen. The magnetic strap holds the cover closed adequately, and the on off feature when we open and close the case works as it should.Other reviewers write of the plastic corners of the case cracking. Ours have not.

I didn't give it 5 stars only because the pictures of it show it to be a beautiful bright turquoise, whereas the actual case is more a muted turquoise - to- aqua shade. It's very functional and well made, however. After using the Kindle in this case for a day I upped the rating to 5 Stars. It is sturdy, beautiful and worked really well, turning the Kindle on and off as it should have as well as protecting it from bumps when carried in my purse. Love it!

I love this case. It is very well made and Ireally like how the kindle snaps into a moldedplastic holder. It feels very secure and none ofthe screen is covered by or difficult to touchbecause of the edges of the holder. I had a regularpadded cover before and this is much thinnerand lighter in weight and easier to hold. In fact,this cover, with the Kindle Fire HD in place, weighsless than my old cover without the Fire. I alsolike the snap closure to keep the cover closed, soI can throw it in my purse or anyplace, withoutworrying about the cover of the case opening andthe kindle being scratched or damaged. I am VERYhappy with this case and would recommend it.

I wasn't sure if I wanted a case for my Paperwhite but I am so glad I got this one. It adds just enough to the kindle so that holding the kindle is more comfortable to the hand. I like that the case turns on the kindle for me. I dislike having to press the tiny awake button when I didn't have a case on it. I definitely recommend this case.

I ordered this case based on the fact that I really loved the color in the photo. Unfortunately, the color of the case that I received was very different than what was pictured. It turned out to be much more of a light denim/sky blue, rather than the aqua/turquoise that is shown in the photo. However, I really like the quality and the sleekness of this case. It has a nice leather feel to it, and it fits the Paperwhite perfectly, without adding any excess bulk. Plus, it automatically turns the screen on and off when it is opened and closed. The snap closure could be a little bit annoying when it is open, but I find that if I just fold it back and fold the front cover over it, I don't even notice it is there. Overall, a very nice case for the price!

Color is perfect as pictured. Feel is amazingly smooth leather. Holds up to minor scratches without damage. Kindle snaps into case perfectly without those nasty elastic bands like some other brands. At first I was hesitant to purchase a case that has a magnetic tab, but it folds back easily without misshaping. Love the color - wouldn't trade it for the world!
