The Kendra is a spin on the Dr. Martens 10-eye silhouette — but with extra height in the form of a high heel with a chunky commando sole. Feminine yet tough, the boot comes in a black sendal leather. Dr. Martens is the stuff of legends. It all began near Munich, Germany in 1945 when Dr. Klaus Maertens injured his foot in a skiing accident in the Bavarian Alps. To make walking easier during the healing process, he designed a shoe with an air-cushioned sole. Using old rubber tires, he constructed soles that had air trapped within closed compartments. He showed his prototype to his engineer/inventor friend, Dr. Herbert Funck, and together they decided to develop and produce the shoes. Not only did the shoe solve the doctor's immediate problem, but it also started to sell well in Germany. By 1959 the two decided that they needed a company to produce and distribute the shoes, then called Dr. Maertens, in other parts of the world. At first, many manufacturers rejected the concept of an air cushioned sole as a short-lived gimmick. However, the R. Griggs Group, located in the village of Wollaston in England, decided to go along with the idea by creating the first work boot with the revolutionary sole. On the first of April 1960, the first cherry red eight-eyelet work boot was produced and named 1460. To sell the brand name better in England, the name was anglicized to Dr. Martens. The range was branded AirWair and the rest is history.

The BEST and cutest Docs EVER!!
I read some of the other reviews complaining about having to break them in. Have you NEVER owned a pair of Docs before? Yes, you have to break-in ALL Docs...and all other stiff boot that you ever buy in your lifetime. Just ask anyone who had ever been in the military. That just means that they are good quality boots. These boots are AMAZING and such great quality. I am usually a 9.5 or possibly a 10 in most shoes....so I got a 9. They are SO comfortable! It's like walking on a cloud for me. I also have these same boots in black! They are my favorite everyday boots...especially in the winter on snow (you need the treat). I was in the fashion industry for a very long time and am known to be a bit fashion-forward in my style. Please get past having to break in a pair of new boots and give these a try. They are my favorite boots and the color is AMAZING!! They do collect a lot of doghair.

If you're petite, you will LOVE these!
First of all they are real Dr. Martens. They look and feel just like all the other Docs except that these have a heel and that these ones are even more comfortable than the regular platform ones. I'm 5' and always looking for a comfortable, fashionable boot that I can wear out for a bit or if I'm doing hair at the salon for 6-10 hours. They have a tag on the boot that says ‘Air Wait’ and on the other side it says ‘with soles Bouncing’. I did not know what that meant because it was not listed in the description. However once I put them on I knew exactly what it meant. I literally felt like I had a bounce in my step. The only thing I would make sure of before commiting, is that you try the boots on to see if it properly supports your arch. I have a high arch so the boots worked great for me.

Comfortable and stylish!
So, I am absolutely in love with these boots. Let me start by saying the incline looks much steeper than it really is and the boots are actually very comfortable to me (I have very defined arches). As for sizing, I am typically a 7 UK/9 US in flat Dr Martens (1460, pascal, etc.), but have noticed that I’m always a 6 UK/8 US in all high heel Dr Martens. This was the case with the Kendra and sizing down from 7 UK to 6 UK, was perfect. They fit like a glove. I think you could get away with ordering your usual size by using insoles if they feel too big. Otherwise the leather is very soft and smooth and requires no breaking in. The leather does crease easily, especially at the tongue of the shoe. Was rather disappointed that these only came with one pair of shoelaces, but it’s not a deal breaker.

so gorgeous
I’ve never owned a pair of Docs before, but these were so pretty I couldn’t resist and I had some Christmas money burning a hole in my pocket. I was worried about the fit, but they’re perfect, even with socks. I usually wear between a 9-11 depending on the width, because I have wide duck feet. The 10s are absolutely perfect, width is great (my feet are about 4” at the widest part) length is perfect, they are a teeny bit tight across the top of the toe box, but I have super high insteps and I’m sure they’ll stretch a bit. getting into them is a bit of a chore because they have to be unlaced and relaced, but I don’t mind. Sole and heel are interestingly squishy and flexible.

My favorites!
I love my first pair of heels. I am a university student, so I get in a lot of walking, and they do not hurt my feet. I had to put in inserts because they did not quite fit to my feet, which also helped keep them comfortable.I would also add that for my feet, I have to lace theas tight as I can, else my feet will move too much and be uncomfortable. Being my first and only pair of heels, I am not sure that is just these boots or all heels. The only thing I wish is a patent leather version in black. The red in these is pretty dark, but has lighter areas.

Buy them now - in a smaller size than u think
Absolutely love these boots! Comfort of traditional Doc Martin boots in a stylish heel. They run BIG. I typically wear a 10 in closed toed shoes and heels, bought a 9 and have room to spare even with socks. Yes they have a plastic like sheen, I think this will age nicely when broken in. Yes, you need tobreak them in, like all leather boots, especially if your going to lace them all the way up. I would buy them again and again.... love them!Color is like a dark Dr.Pepper red/black. I swear it’s perfect and can be pulled off with black or darker brown outfit. Really stunning and unique, I actually prefer this color over straight black.

Comfy for 4 inch heels!
I have small feet, so my limit for comfortable heels is about 3 inches - I was a bit hesitant to get a pair since it is almost 4 inches heel height, but I was pleasantly surprised it was very comfortable! The platform is about 1 inch so your net heel height is about 3 inches. I am a size 5M and got the same size, and it's got room for thick socks. Comfy right off the bat, a bit stiff when I walk down steps, but they'll soften up I'm sure. They have decent traction, which I love with DMs.The only thing I took a star away from was that it was squeaky as hell, with the tongue of the shoe rubbing against the shoe upper - I was able to tone the squeaking down a bit with weatherproofing cream (petroleum jelly works too) between the spots that rub together.

Exactly what I wanted. Love Doc Martens!
I love my new boots. I bought them for work this fall/winter. I needed something functional but fancy enough to wear at the boutique I work at. So far I love them! They are the pre-softened leather so no breaking in required which is a major plus with Docs. I have three other pair of Doc Martens and loved adding these to my collection! I wear a EU 43 / US 11.5-12 and the boots aren’t too clunky. They do have some weight to them but it’s fine. The only place my feet end up hurting a little is the ball of my foot, but that happens with nearly any heels I wear. They’re very sturdy and I can run, jump, dance, whatever I need to do!! Love them. Great quality!
