The media could not be loaded.  My Keets took right too it and were excited when checking it out. The husk tray works well separating a good amount of the husks from the feed tray when feeding. Will Buy another one or two when I am able. No more Poop or nesting in the feed trays and the debris field is reduced to a small amount and area, if any. Easy to fill, I use a clip to hold the feed door open and fill using a small scoop cup. No more pulling put the tray to empty the mix of husks and or poop! Just pull out the lower tray and toss the husks into the trash bin! Love It, and so do my Birds!After hand washing, rinsing and drying the feeder, I attached it outside the cage in one of the feed doors. Filled it with seed and adjusted the feed limiter plate to allow just enough seed to flow. I had removed all the screws so as to prevent any rust or trapped water around the screws. Drying every surface with a clean towel, and a blow dryer to finish even the screw holes to eliminate any moisture. You may want to take a few photos of the screw positions if you do not do mechanical tasks often, which will remind you where they go and how the pieces go together. I made a few slight adjustments when reaasembling it so it is good practice to get familiar with tweaking it in for the food size and type. You only need to barely snug the screws when reassembling, so as not to strip the plastic hole threads.

I have already been using those type of parakeet (Finch) seed feeder for several years and I just ordered two more dispensers. Those feeders really do help cut down a lot of wasted parakeet seeds, especially helpful because I only purchase quality parakeet bird seeds (Sunburst) which is not cheap. It is almost impossible to separate the left over huls in regular feeding cups from good seeds, this dispenser really helps because the empty huls fall mostly in the container below. Though it is not 100% perfect, the mess around the cage is reduced.It is CRITICAL to ensure that the little plastic plate with the tiny screw is moved up as high as possible to make sure that the seeds will be able to come out OTHERWISE the seeds will not dispense properly, seeds will not come out and your bird could starve! I am glad I figured it out before something bad happened!Initially, years ago when I purchased my first dispenser, I I had not paid attention to this little plastic plate and its position, but it is crucial that it is fixed as high up as possible to allow the seeds to freely fall into the food tray area!I did not receive any benefit or reward for writing this positive review - I just believe this is a very useful product.

Like many products today the Automatic Bird Seed Feeder with Perch, Free Install, etc. is innovative but is made poorly and is anything but "install free". Although this feeder does come 95% assembled it comes with zero instructions and the few parts that need to be assembled are very difficult to install. The plastic material is poor quality so be careful not to break anything or you'll be shipping it back. I had to start and stop the product video numerous times to figure out where to install the parts that needed installation and I still haven't been able to install them. This plastic feeder is like a three dimensional jigsaw puzzle which only operates if everything is lined up just right and it's all held together with tiny plastic pegs that go into tiny little holes. One slip, one broken peg, and your feeder is worthless. Great idea but overall its a very poor product. I gave it two stars because the design is smart. UPDATE: 5/31/2021 I was finally able to complete assembly and the feeder is working fine. However, I still stick by my 2 star rating for above stated reasons.

I like that I can go one week without adding food to my bird, and the excess food goes to the cup on the bottom, it's a really good product.

I like the way it holds feed for a few days. It's awkward to attach, and SMS chaff spills. Overall, very nice.

This is a great automatic feeder. It’s made well and does not fall apart. The birds love it!

It is a great concept but our parrot still finds a way to make a mess. She is still a bit scare to grab her food.

I love it!! Now my birdies are never left without any clean seeds. Always fresh seeds without any left over seed shells.
