Redundancy for hobbyist arborist
Good flip line. It hasn't caused me any issues. Because I'm investing my life in it, I'm at ease and confident in the product. I'll probably get another one soon because I'm sick of pruning limbs accidentally instead of flipping them over. On sturdy branches, I also use a top rope with sling, but this flip line is great for redundancy.Tree climbing is impossible with out a lanyard. It can be done but this is a bold statement considering I didnāt start using a lanyard until a professional arborist noticed I was just being a gym monkey but climbing outdoor and said relying only on the top rope is a lot of risk. The fact is that although I didnāt use a ālanyardā I still brought slings with me into the canopy and girth hitched them to the tree as a temporary anchor while I advanced my climbing line. This was cheap and worked well with my transition from the rock climbing world since my harness did not have lanyard attachment points (just a traditional belay loop). But dealing with girth hitches is a time-consuming process because I always had to tie knots to extend or shorten my slings. I wanted to become a faster tree climber so I explored the realm of lanyards with my new harness. In my research I learned the following:Six feet is a short lanyard. (Does not work on some big trees) while Twenty five feet is a long lanyard. (Too much excess rope) so so Eight to Ten or even Twelve ( for the longest reach and wide trunks ) feet of line is average.I started by attempting to create my own line but resulted in a heavy and expensive contraption of parts using trango cinch, prusik cords, micro pulley, or by borrowing a grigri from my indoor rock climbing or lead climbing equipment. Then this entire system for under a benjamin US is a great solution for my recreational climbing. The large locking pulley allows for one-handed tightening with a large lever for my thumb to push even if I was wearing gloves for winter climbing. The wire cabling cover is the climbing rope and I selected bright orange so it is bright and visible. Both of the locking clips are durable and similar to those since on the construction petzel belt lines.I also inspected the black shrink wrap near the ends where the cable is wrapped around an eyelet and did not notice any cracks that others have mentioned. I will keep an eye out but it is best practice to inspect all your gear before you leave the ground.

Good value, solid and reliable flip-rope, no frills and reasonably durable
Purchased this flip rope to trim a few spruce in my yard. It works nicely for trees up to about 24-28" diameter and would be too short for anything larger. The rope has held up fairly well to climbing rough-barked spruce with lots of sap and sharp branches. The rope cover shows a little wear but otherwise the line is in good shape. The carabiner is fairly cheap, but solid and reliable. The aluminum ascender grips the line reliably but is sometimes a little finicky.I initially used this flipline with a climbing harness and it was difficult to flip the line due to the central attachment point on the harness's front loop. This flip line works much better with an arborist or lineman's harness which has a hip D-ring on both sides. This make flipping the line much smoother and also provides more stability when climbing.I would recommend a thicker flip line for anything other than casual tree climbing. The small diameter of this line is tiring on the hands after a while. This is not a big concern if you are only climbing a tree or two.

Its not triple lock carabiner
This Lanyard for the price is great to use, I have about 4 of them, The carabiner is not triple lock it's a double lock. So I wouldn't climb with a double lock.

Should I be concerned? I trust my life with this!
I have been climbing trees for 23 years so far. I have really good reviews on google and put my trust on my equipment. If I donāt have the tools , I canāt do good work. It worked well in the beginning, but just after a couple weeks, the end where my snap hook tie is damaged. Never had that happened to me yet . I really count on that for my life and donāt know if I should keep using it. My tools are my $ maker so I do take care of them and use it as it should. Iām just a small guy so it should hold my weight and my past lanyards have never broken there especially when I just received it two weeks ago. It is Brand new
