Whilst the people of New Zion believe that Judah is actually Prophet Cain, the real Cain endures daily beatings, near starvation, and total solitude.Until one day he hears noises in the cell next to his. A girl has been imprisoned as another Cursed, and will wed Judah (posing as Cain) to fulfil the prophecy. But as Cain and Harmony get to know each other through the wall, they start to develop feelings for each other, and Cain fears what his twin will do to Harmony once they are wed.Can they somehow put a stop to Judah’s tyranny and save the innocents in their colony?Redemption indeed!Cain is actually such a good man. He genuinely didn’t know any better in the past and yet still blames himself for all the things that happened in his name - even though he didn’t know about them. And as soon as he found out, he tried to put a stop to it all!And Harmony was so sweet and fierce and brave. Willing to put up with an actual nightmare to save her people. Now I fully understand where the Hangmen were coming from in their hatred of Cain. I get it. But once they saw with their own eyes just how mortified and truly apologetic he was; the lengths he would go to to make things right…I hate how they treated him after all that. But Smiler…that sneaky SOB. IYKYKA few surprise revelations in this book too!

really good addition to the series
Woah this one was one roller coaster of a read and all I can say is poor poor Rider he was really put through the mill here.Got to admit I was slightly sceptical concerning Rider’s redemption especially after all the stuff he’s pulled in the past I wondered how the author was going to manage to portray him sympathetically, but boy she managed it and I found myself totally heartbroken and empathetic over all he was made to suffer. There was such a lot of hate for Rider from both the order and the hangmen and he just couldn’t seem to catch a break and even thought he was deserving of all he was suffering because of his previous actions. His only light in the darkness of his reality was Harmony and the connection that was building between them and to save her he was willing to sacrifice everything including his own life. But really was his situation that different to Mae, Maddie and Lilah he’s also been brainwashed.Yes his upbringing was gentler raised In the pasture with his brother but this separation has just contributed to his total naivety giving him a skewed outlook about what the order is all about, he’s been totally brainwashed and indoctrinated into all that his people stand for and yes the initial power went to his head but he now seeing the error of his ways and is horrified and disgusted by his recent discoveries and the actions of his brother and even himself. His blinkers have been forcibly removed and he is gutted that he was unknowingly a part of it all especially now he knows just what the all actually is.He wishes he could turn back time and just have a do-over his faith and self-worth is destroyed. He is neither Cain nor Ryder in fact he has no idea anymore just who he is the only fact he is totally convinced of is his need to save Harmony stop his brother and then atone for his past deeds.Rider is like an Island alone and hurting, he has only known the love of his twin brother and now he has turned on him and betrayed there bond he feels truly isolated with no-one to turn to.He is beaten daily and is broken down in both body and spirit losing all of his hope until her.Harmony is another daughter of Eve cursed and here to fulfil the prophecy and marry Judah who is masquerading as Cain. Her presence gives Rider new strength and a purpose and he will walk willingly into the gates of hell for her.Harmony was fantastic so strong she has endured a lot and still hasn’t lost that spark and drive to survive. She is instantly drawn to the beaten man in the cell next to her own despite not knowing who he really is and when she does discover the full truth she is an absolute rock and so protective. She is just what Rider needs to realise that his previous infatuation with Mae was just that the first female to show him some care and attention. The strength of his feelings for Harmony prove that there is just no comparison for him.So we really do see a different side of Rider here one that has to endure and he was put through so much both physically and mentally that there was no way you couldn’t feel for him. This was bloody brutal and Rider sure atones here over and over again it was relentless for him and I just wanted to scream enough leave him be he’s seen the error of his ways.So there were also quite a few shocking reveals here and they did seem a little far-fetched one of these reveals I could maybe accept but there were three and I think it maybe this was a little too much and did stretch the boundaries of believability. Still, it gave this some added drama and it is fiction after all.I do think the books are definitely getting better the further I progress, I have enjoyed all of them but this and the previous one were poles apart. This was again a dark read and has a lot of triggers especially regarding the past child stuff please do know your limits this story deals with some really messed up stuff and doesn’t hold back, you will also need to read this series in order as though each book focuses on a different couple there’s an ongoing story arc throughout. But yeh this one was a really good addition to the series I’m glad I carried on with this series as I was slightly on the fence initially but took a chance.

Wow. An amazing journey. Just, wow.
Against the odds, we found one another in hell.'Um wow.So, here's the thing, whether you love this series or not, there's just absolutely no denying Tillie Cole's talent. Her talent to tell a story. Talent to hook readers, to pull us so deep into the world and lives of these characters. First of all we have the superb, gritty yet beautiful writing. THEN the details. Omg can we talk about the details?! How Tillie weaves them together so effortlessly, how she creates this world, these people, each piece of a puzzle that just fits.'Shattered by his greed. Obliterated by his pride . . . destroyed by his need for revenge.'Now, onto the story, which is going to be difficult to talk about because spoilers. And I don't want to give any away.I think the title and cover sum up the story beautifully. They really do. It all goes together. Probably my favourite cover of the series and after SU, my favorite book in the series. This is Cain/Rider's story of redemption. Of re-discovering himself. And of him getting the thing that was denied of him; love."A pure soul always finds love. Even through hate, they will always find the ability to claim love."'Rider's girl'.I'm sure her name has been mentioned in reviews already and honestly even if I gave her name it wouldn't give anything away because this is Tillie Cole, but still, I'm just going to refer to her as Rider's girl for this review. She is amazing. I was in awe of her many times. She has strength that is inspiring because she is someone who has lost everything and been beaten down along the way, but her fierceness in her ability to love is stronger. I really wanna say so much about her, I can't though but just know she is amazing. She is courageous and strong and a beautiful soul.Out of the 7-8 books of Tillie's I have read, she is my favorite heroine.'In this cell, with the true prophet of our faith, I was home. I knew there was no other place I would rather be. The strangest of circumstances.'This series has been addicting and mind blowing so far. This book was no different. I was hooked by it all.I cried. I got so angry. Disgusted. I empathized and I changed my opinion on characters more than once. I was scared. Scared because these things, similar things are happening in the world. I loved. And most of all I felt. Felt it all, every part of this book. Also, I need to mention, while I'm not religious I really have to respect and admire the other side of religion in this book that Tillie portrayed. The good side. The way it should be. Because I think it's just so relatable to what's going on in the world right now and in this book Tillie showed that amidst the ugly, the evil, there is good. There are good hearts and souls with pure intentions amongst the evil and hatred. So, when it came to the hangmen and their stance on forgiveness and revenge... I honestly, seriously, cannot believe I'm about to say this. But *deep breaths* here I go, my love for the hangmen, especially Ky and Styx dissolved, went down the drain so quick. I loved those guys, and I stood back and I looked at it through their eyes and I mean, I GOT IT. I did, but...I also didn't. And right now I don't like them anymore. However Flame is still my number one, always will be. I also have a new fondness for Smiler and hope he's getting a book. I love his friendship with Rider and hope it can be truly mended and that we'll be able to see more of that. I really want a hush and cowboy book. So much. However, I think they will be paired with Sia and I'm not a huge fan of ménage so I doubt I'll be reading that one when the time comes but I'm excited to see where the series will be taken with the others! Now, finally, onto Rider. I'm one of the readers who was against him.Refused to like him.Did that change? No.Ok, I lie. It totally did. This book done a whole 3 freaking 60 on my opinion on Rider.I started to empathize and sympathize with him.Get angry on his behalf.Wanted to be his friend. For him to have a friend. For him to be forgiven. For him to be loved. For him to be free, truly free of Judah and his evil ways and manipulation that had a hold on Rider.I just felt it all for him. After Flame, Rider is my favorite.I didn't love him like the others though and even now I'm not quite sure I love him at all but I loved how he learned to over come what was ruining him, what ruined him, his mistakes and manipulation. I loved his journey as a person. And I really never seen the tables turning the way they did, being on his side rather than the hangmen's. I wanted so badly for him to get a HEA, and while not every aspect of the aftermath is perfect, it was never going to be, he found the truest, purest love and he does deserve it.'In all my life, I had never truly been told I was loved. Eight letters, three simple words, that smashed into your soul with the force and devastation of a comet.'I'm excited to see what's next from Tillie. She is incredible at what she does and really is one of the best in this genre
