Malibu Kayaks X-13 Fish and Dive Package Sit on Top Kayak

This is the fourth kayak I've owned, my 2nd sit on top, and I just love it! Nice and stable, no 'holes' on the set where you sit in water (good design). Since it is a fishing kayak, they say you can stand in it....haven't tried cause it's winter, but I have kayaked with it 3 times now and I do love it.

The X-13 pictured on the Amazon site showed 4 flush rod holders aft but it came with only 2. Questions regarding delivery and transducer mount were either unanswered or answered incompletely but the kayak itself performs well and is a great fishing platform.

I found this kayak to be very stable even in choppy waters. So far I have only taken it out in the sound but did hit some pretty heavy swells from larger boats. Mine did differ from the description in that it did not have the forward rod holders, but did have four rear holders. Made for a great camping trip, as I was able to carry a 6 person tent, folding chair, large cooler, two rods with takle box, and sleeping gear. I was skeptical as to how much weight I could pile onto it as I am myself 220lbs. It handled the extra weight with ease. I really could not tell a difference in the handeling of the boat. The only real issue I had was some water getting in through the scupper holes due to sitting lower in the water. The gator hatch is awesome. My only complaint would be the lack of eyelets on the back. The bungee holders included are difficult to work with if your gear is taller than the recession of the boat. My bungees kept springing off my cooler. This is easily rectified with an eyelet kit. Overall a great kayak for the money. Very rigid construction and the ergonomics are comfortable.

This is truly a great kayak, I have owned several high end kayaks and this one has all of the option's I needed eg. storage, light weight, fast, stable.I take it in the ocean to catch cobia and sharks and feel safe, and with the ability to paddle at a steady 4 mph (no wind) I can get to other fishing holes quickly. If your looking at a fishing kayak with storage this is a hard to beat option just be patient as it takes several months to get them as they are made to order. Happy fishing!

I love paddling this boat. I'm more of a recreational paddler rather than a fishing pro. When I get going on the water, my X-13 is fast, responds well to my paddling, but best of all it's very stable. I stand up on the kayak with no problems, and I'm 6'4" and about 240 lbs. Glad I bought it and I hope to keep it in great shape to ride it til I'm old and grey.

I bought my kayak to use as a fishing, diving, and day touring craft. THe Kayak has proven itself over and over again. I have been in very rough weather and had no worry whatsoever. THe kayak can haul a huge amount as well. (I always overpack) I love fishing in this kayak as I see the powerboats out there and they always ask me how stable it is. When I can I stand up and show them. :)
