Happily Ever Afters: A Reimagining of Snow White and Rose Red (The Four Kingdoms)

What a Wonderful Story
What a wonderful tangent story watching Ava’s Caravan friends fall in love. Two cousins couldn’t be more different but love each other and find perfect true loves. And I absolutely loved The Four Kingdoms Series. The stories are intertwined. You could enjoy each individually (they kind of could stand alone) but you need to read all of the amazing, clear, downright brilliant stories so it is best if you read them in order because there are a lot of spoilers in each subsequent book (and many things referred to that happened in previous increments). Make sure you read the novellas in the right spots.Book 1: The Princess Companion: A Retelling of The Princess and the PeaBook 2: The Princess Fugitive: A Reimagining of Little Red Riding HoodNovella: Happily Ever Afters: A Reimagining of Snow White and Rose RedNovella: The Coronation Ball: A Four Kingdoms Cinderella NoveletteBook 3: The Princess Pact: A Twist on RumpelstiltskinNovella: A Midwinter's Wedding: A Retelling of The Frog PrinceBook 4: The Princess Game: A Reimagining of Sleeping BeautyBook 5: The Princess Search: A Retelling of The Ugly Duckling

Good book
This book was really good. It was nice to see what happened after Ava and Han’s happily ever after and see what happened to some of the other characters from the story. It was also a nice introduction into the next book of the series which I am so excited to read! I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book. I do wish this book had been a little longer though. It seemed like there were details left out and definitely some jumping around going on to get through the story faster. This book was writing from two different people’s perspectives which was nice because you got to see both of their sides and what was going on for both of them. I wish more of Melanie Cellier’s stories did that instead of just telling it from the princess’s perspective. It would definitely give the stories even more depth. Either way though I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read the next one.

Cute novella
I have read the first two books in this series and even though it’s been a while I really enjoyed diving back into this fairytale world. This book is only a novella in the series, but follows the lives of Princess Ava’s two friends that you meet in the second book. This book definitely needs to be read after that one, but is not necessary to finishing the series as a whole. The story was interesting and fun, with two very different but likeable protagonists. Sarah and Evelyn are cousins, and I loved reading from each of their perspectives. The romance was sweet and I liked the adventure/action interwoven as well.

Very Good, But Not As Strong An Ending
I have really come to appreciate the author's style and ability. All her characters are interesting and multifaceted while still staying true to a fairytale archetype. This story certainly doesn't disappoint in that regard. I do however feel that the ending is not quite as strong as the other stories have so far been.Still, I am greatly looking forward to the rest of this series!

A Fun Novella
This book should be read after The Princess Fugitive, which I did. Happily Ever Afters is only a short novella, but wow, what a ride it was! We read the stories of Sarah and Evelyn, two integral characters from the prequel. I really enjoyed this. Though it is a retelling of "Snow-White and Rose-Red," very little of the fairytale showed through in the intricate court intrigue of the story. It was less like its fairytale than the other books in this series.

A Reminder of What Comes After
While Cellier writes entrancing and wonderful fairytale stories for us, she has not neglected the realistic aspects of happily ever after, of the struggles that face our heroes and princesses. The authoress creates a plethora of colorful characters, many of whom strive for good and what is right in fairytale fashion. It brightens my day to know I can get a happily ever after without the heroines constantly being damsels in distress.

A wonderful re-telling of a classical story
The story was a quick read which I love. Also, having a heroine in lieu of a hero or working aside a hero was very refreshing. The kingdom in the story did not rely on only men or only women being the ruler but on the bloodline. All of these made the re-teling of Snow White &Rose Red completely new to me. It is one I would highly recommend to all my friends who have daughters.

Side characters get happy endings too
I loved returning to two characters (introduced in the book before this) and seeing their happily ever after! My only complaint would be that the book is too short! Happily Ever Afters is told by two friends (cousins, actually) who came into play in the last book. They have completely different personalities and perspectives, so each chapter offered a new look on their surroundings.

Enjoyed it!
Another enjoyable book by Melanie Cellier continues the story of Sarah and Evelynn. Definitely worth a read if you enjoyed the previous books.

Beautiful!
I loved reading this novella. Only the character Sarah and Evelyn could have solved this mystery. Their simple life before they went to court set them up well to foil those who thought they were unfoilable. Once again, It wasn't a predictable storyline, and I got caught up in their world. Thank you for sharing your gift.

Short, but worth it
The story is fast paced, but it's well done anyway and I love the contrast between the two main characters and their stories! Especially Evelyn is a really truly amazing character!
