Great tool at a great price, very good for small planing jobs on a variety of materials . I use on wood, plastic moulding, doors, and drywall, although that will dull the blade quickly. Remember the blade in these is sharp but very brittle, if you drop it the blade can break. I keep mine in a makeshift bubble wrap holster with a rubber band . Good purchase.

Nice item, does the job

We all know the craftsman tool reputation. They used to be the top dog then once \sears closed shop were seeing a bunch of low quality tools in a craftsman package. For years i was reading bad reviews about and returning low quality craftsman tools. Well it looks like someone high in ranks at craftsman was also reading these reviews and chose to do something about it. It seems the cost has come up a bit but the quality is definitely back. This included, the last three toolsets i have purchased with the craftsman name on it have been exceptional. This wood rasp looks, feels and works like the one i have had for 30 years. This is the real deal and does a fantastic job on cutting down a few sticky doors here at the house. I am very happy with this and I am seeing myself drifting back to owning mostly craftsman tools. The only downside which i would not call a flaw is that it cuts a little too good, I would prefer the rip to be just a little finer but that is just a preference thing. A 5 star tool but not quit for my needs. Highly recommend this wood rasp

I purchased this item as a gift for a friend living in an 1880's home. I personally have owned this product for over 50 years and it comes in handy ESPECIALLY when shaving down an old door that has swelled some at spots and rubbing the jamb. It is a tool that I use on so many situations that do not know how ever did without. Being honest, my older product it slightly better made but the newer one still does the job.

Great rasp for wood, bondo, and layers of old paint. I used it for windows and door trim. Another famous brand (starts with an "S") makes the same product at a much higher price. The Craftsman tool looks identical. Probably made by the same mass manufacturer. It is so inexpensive that the tool and blade cost less than a replacement blade from the other brand. Very handy tool and very well priced.
