It loads games every time!
I originally purchased a Hyperkin Famicom to NES adapter but it was very inconsistent getting it to play Famicom carts on my front loading NES. It fit the system, but would only play a game cartridge after fiddling and adjusting the Hyperkin adapter slightly in the system. The Hyperkin 60 to 72 pin adapter was a lot of work to get a game to play and if you swapped Famicom carts, you'd have to work to get the next game to play. I got tired of that adapter the same day I received it and ordered this My Arcade Cartridge Converter. This one is a huge leap in quality. It feels like solid plastic, the games fit it it pretty well, it sits like a normal game in the system, and best of all every Famicom cart played the first time I tried it. The Hyperkin garbage is going back to Amazon. The only negatives I have about this are: -Longer Famicom carts will not fit in the My Arcade Cartridge Converter. (Splatterhouse Wanpaku, Pizza Pop, Jajamaru Daisakusen, and a few others.) -Famicom carts are a little loose sitting in the adapter. The fact this is functional far outweighs most of the negatives. -Games load right up like a normal NES cartridge. -Fits perfectly in a toaster/front loading NES. No putting your fingers in the slot to line up the adapter. -Famicom carts go face up in the adapter so you can easily tell the game in the system. If you are looking for a Famicom 60 pin to 72 pin adapter for your NES, I highly recommend trying the My Arcade Cartridge Converter. -Update- A few weeks later I have received a couple more Famicom carts from Japan. Those all played perfectly as well. If you are looking for a cheap and fun Famicom cart, I highly recommend Youkai Douchuuki.

Very nice adapter.
Works perfectly and is a great design over the typical style with a ribbon pull cord. Fits in the front loader fine and is nice that it’s fool proofed, you can’t plug the 60 pin cartridge in backwards. However, that nice design means that only the short standard size cartridges will fit. Anything in a taller, nonstandard shell will not fit.

Great for most Famicom games, but NOT games with expanded audio
Title summarizes it. It works perfect for games that *do not* have expanded audio. Akumajou Densetsu/JP Castlevania III with the VRC6 chip will not have any sound. If you get an expansion mod, it will just play through the usual NES audio channels. If you decide to open this up to solder the two pins to properly route the audio, you will still need a hardware mod for the console. I would then recommend getting the NES EPSM mod that just plugs into the bottom of the front load NES. You can just get an EverDrive N8 Pro after that. So if you want to play Famicom games that don't have expanded audio with standard sized Famicom carts, this is all you need

Great product. Fired the game right up.
Easy to insert and the game fired right up. Played Battle City on it with no issues whatsoever.

Handles all my Famicom carts with no problems!
Does what the box says. Carts fit perfect and opens up a lot of gaming avenues for famicom games that never came stateside

Works perfect!
I wasn't sure if this would be worth the money or not, but I am very pleased! Famicom games slide right in and then you pop it in your NES like a normal game. I am using it on a toploader NES and haven't had any issues at all.

I works - MOSTLY - but there are a few issues with it.
They claim "FULL COMPATIBILITY - Supports all Famicom games" - not true at all. It will fit the STANDARD sized Famicom carts, and that is it. Anything that is oversized will not fit, such as Wanpaku Graffiti, Punch-Out Gold, etc. So be warned. Probably the biggest issue is the death grip the adapter will put on your Famicom games. It takes a lot of "persuasion" to get the carts out of the adapter. Enough that I am concerned for the games I've put in it and the longevity of the adapter itself.

Very nice, like the handle.
Can be tricky to get carts in and out sometimes. Maybe get one for each cart so you don't have to switch?

It's expensive as heck (about twice the cost of the Hyperkin adapter), but it's a MUCH better design. It won't work with oversized carts, but I use it with my EverDrive N8 Famicom Edition which is standard-sized. This is an especially great adapter if you have a toaster style front loader instead of a top-loader NES. If you have a top loader or an NT Mini, you may be better off saving 20 bucks and going with the Hyperkin adapter. Here are the advantages over the Hyperkin 72 pin to 68 pin adapter. Most of these advantages, as mentioned, only apply to the front-loader NES-001. Some apply to all models of original NES plus clone consoles (FPGA and Nintend-on-a-Chip clones, alike): -cartridge is face up so you can tell what game is in your NES. The Hyperkin requires the Famicom to be label down and upside down -very clear which way to insert the cartridge into the adapter because it uses a chamfered edge that matches the Famicom cartridge design. Your cartridge will only fit one way. The Hyperkin is confusing, and there are no markings on the adapter itself to tell you which way to insert the cartridge in the adapter. The first time I tried to use it, I ended up needing to look up online how to use it because there are no instructions in the box, diagrams on the outside of the box, or even markings on the adapter. Fix your product packaging, Hyperkin! You don't explain at all how to use your product. If you insert the cartridge the wrong way you only get a black screen when you turn on the NES, or even a purple screen which would lead some people to believe they fried their console. This adapter, you're guaranteed to insert the cartridge the right way the first time because it only goes in one way -you can actually remove the cartridge when it's inserted in a front-loader without stressing the parts in your NES. The toaster eject mechanism works just great, so you can pop in and out the cartridge correctly like a normal North American NES cartridge. With the Hyperkin adapter, the Famicom cartridge jams a post inside your NES so you can't depress the toaster eject mechanism. You basically have to jam in the cartridge with a lot of force to insert, and then the cartridge carrier gets stuck. The only way to remove it the cart is yank really hard on the ribbon, and then the cartridge carrier will pop back up to its normal position. You may even need to unpop the carrier, which is NOT supposed to happen to an NES in normal use. The only reason you should pop up the toaster is if there's a cartridge inside. You shouldn't need to do this with an empty cartridge carrier, but with the Hyperkin adapter, you often need to do just that. I didn't like the forces involved, so when I was using the Hyperkin adapter, I unscrewed the six screws on the bottom of my NES to take it apart every time I wanted to remove a Famicom cart. I then got easier access to the toaster cartridge carrier. Of course, this is a pain the butt. This adapter lets you insert and eject Famicom carts just like a North American cartridge. Definitely better for the long term lifetime of your aging retro system -Famicom cart comes out of the adapter easily. The Hyperkin adapter has a very tight fit -handle instead of a ribbon makes it a cinch to remove, even if you ignore the fact that the Hyperkin adapter jams your cartridge carrier Drawbacks compared to the Hyperkin: -won't fit oversized carts. You can fix this with a Dremel took because there is plenty of spare plastic on the handle if you need to enlarge the cutout the Famicom cart occupies. -twice as expensive -hard to find Canadian sellers of this on Amazon. I had to buy a used item because that was all that was available without paying even more to import from an American seller -I've heard you can't play expansion audio carts, but I haven't tried this. Apparently just takes a quick solder job of one wire to fix, so I will try this out -removing the cartridge from the adapter requires you to put downward pressure on the cartridge connector (68 pin edge connector, not 72 pin card edge). You need to angle the Famicom card down out of the adapter's cutout otherwise the handle gets in the way. Makes me worried this might damage the cartridge adapter over time. Though I would definitely prefer having to buy a new adapter than break my NES, which the design of the Hyperkin adapter is almost guaranteed to do

Game did not play the first time I used it. Actually requested a refund, but before posting it back I managed to get the game to play. Sadly it broke after trying it out on the third cartridge. It's very hard to get the famicom cartridge out once place inside. Almost feels like a one time use per cartridge kind of product. Once in, it seems to want to remain in there, which is not how it's marketed. Either way, it no longer works. Upon inspection I can see that one of the pins fell out. The pins take a beating each time you remove the cartridge. Seen other Youtubers complain about the same issue, struggling to get cartridges out. My Amazon order doesn't seem to offer the option to refund now??? I should have sent it back when I originally struggled with it instead of giving another go. What a waste of hard earned money.

Perfect for using Famicom carts in front-load NES (original)… Prevents you from plugging the Famicom or adapter backwards, unlike so many others! Gives the Famicom cart the familiar NES cart shape, making it easy to insert. The only thing that could be an issue is oversized Famicom carts might not fit it (fortunately all of mine are standard-sized).
